Christmas Story Sequencing

Christmas Story Sequencing – This morning Vito and I had a great time working on our Nativity Sequence story. This is our way of welcoming and celebrating Advent. We’ve been reading different Christmas story books over the past few days and today we worked on some extra activities to practice some of the skills I’ll talk about below.

Story Ranking: CUT AND PASTE EVENT Kids love cut and paste activities! They find it interesting, especially since it helps them develop their scissor skills. Making this set is very simple. Cut out the pictures and order them on the mats provided.

You can choose the defined set or the pictorial set only. It all depends on the ability of your child or student to work on this material. A black and white version is also provided for coloring purposes. Some children prefer to color the pictures, plus you can save ink!

The Ultimate Guide To Christmas Worksheets And Printable Activities

This set is perfect for beginning readers. The main purpose of this material is that the child can organize the events of the story by reading the tapes rather than focusing on the visuals. The child will read the Nativity story and arrange the events in order. In our case, we used a pocket chart to classify the order of the story, and optionally you can also use sequence numbers alongside.

Vito likes to use these tapes because he likes to read sentences. Story Sequencing: PLAYING AND ORDERING CARDS Another option I’ve added to the story pack is the “card” version of the tapes. Some children are not yet comfortable with reading, so these cards are a great alternative. Use these cards when your child has not yet read. Here, the images on the cards are larger (compared to the reading strips), emphasizing the child’s visual perception rather than their reading skills. Preschoolers will learn the story of birth with these birth order pictures. This free set is perfect for preschool Christmas activities.

Add these activity sheets to your next birth activities and your preschoolers will practice sequence and storytelling this holiday season.

Perfect for helping young learners pick out important story details as they practice story sequencing. They can also be used to sequence the story of Jesus’ birth.

Nightmare Before Christmas 13 Days Of Christmas Story

Pages are the perfect addition to your vacation homeschooling preschool lessons. Just print, laminate and cut out. So you’re all set to go!

For starters, I love reading the full version of the nativity story. You can read directly from the Bible, a children’s Bible or a storybook version.

Then introduce the story sequence cards to your preschooler by reading the story once or twice. Have your child put them in order from start to finish.

Read the story again and ask your child to check their work. Did they put the story cards in the correct order?

Then have your child place the sorting discs on the sorting mat. This package includes a color version and a black and white version.

Reusable activity by rolling sheets. Put Velcro dots on the numbered circles and behind the sequencing dots.

I’m sure many of us have been looking forward to Christmas as Thanksgiving draws to a close. Today I am going to share some Christmas worksheets for preschoolers that focus on the Bible story of Christmas.

I always look forward to celebrating Christmas and have especially enjoyed the Advent season in recent years since my children. We always try to establish Christmas traditions as a family. We decorate, of course, we read them a Christmas story from the Bible, and we have an advent calendar. We also like to prepare a Christmas children’s shoebox operation, sing Christmas carols, drive to see the lights and watch Christmas movies.

My son looks forward to releasing Christmas items just for him every year. Little People love your Nativity. We have a more formal wooden birth that my mom gave me years ago, but it’s just for her and I love that she can bring the story to life with it. There are several versions of this birth, and ours doesn’t have as many parts as below, but there are plenty.

Sequencing Stories With Picture Cards For Kids

Plus, we love nothing more than drinking a nice cup of cocoa and watching some of our favorite Christmas movies. Sure, we love Rudolf and The Grinch, but we’re also big fans of the two Veggie Tales Christmas movies – The Little Drummer Boy and Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas. Seriously, I cry every time I watch The Little Drummer Boy. Still. And I’ve seen it more than once.

Every night we thread three stories – 2 books that change every night and the last one is always their bible. We read the Jesus Storybook Bible with our 4 year old. It is very well written and I highly recommend it. We use the Read With Me Bible for Toddlers with our 2 year old. It is written in a very engaging story style and is perfect for ages 2-3. For Advent, I plan to read the Beginner’s Bible: The Very First Christmas. It’s a little book given to us that contains the whole story of Christmas, from the appearance of the angel to Mary to a short story about what Jesus did when he was growing up. It’s all broken up into 6 short chunks, and I think we’ll read them every weekday after dinner or something.

This year I have prepared Christmas worksheets for preschoolers to help my 4 year old son work on his preschool skills while learning the story of Christmas, and I am sharing them with you in the hope that they will also bless your family.

Nativity Cut-Out Pages – Cut them out and glue them to toilet paper tubes or Popsicle sticks so you and your child can enjoy bringing the story to life if you don’t have a nursery like this above.

The Nativity Story Christmas Poster / Wallchart

Letter Training Pages – These pages focus specifically on letter formation and recognition. For the bottom of these pages, my son likes to use a Bingo marker on each letter he finds. You may want to use Do-A-Dot washable markers or stamping markers.

Story Ordering Pages – My little boy loves to cut out, so he cuts out the pictures on the front page, working together to put them in order as we go through the story.

Counting Exercise – Again, we like to cut. If your toddler is still working on basic scissor skills, you can always cut the numbers for them. Then work on counting and number recognition.

Memory Matching Game – This is a constant favorite of my Sunday School class. Sometimes it helps kids pick them up easier by printing them on cardboard or sticking them on construction paper or cardboard.

Letter Block Writing – I love activities that go beyond the 2D world of spreadsheets, and especially activities that involve toys. If you’ve never seen my Letter Block Spelling pages, Alphabet Block Spelling will give you a pretty good idea of what it’s all about.

Word Puzzles – Have your child cut them out (or cut them out for them) and then put them back together.

Pre-Writing Tracking – Have your child trace sages to the stars. If you want them to be able to do this multiple times, you can laminate them (I use and love this laminator) or slip each sheet into a sheet protector. You can then use dry erase pens (we love them) and do these exercises multiple times.

Binding Cards – Print each shape then cut it out. laminate
