How To Draw Horse
When painting a horse’s head or face, there is a question that is often asked, “where do I put the details?” It’s actually a good question, so to help answer some of them, I’ve drawn and marked the areas where you need to detail your horse’s head and face. more
As you can see, this is a clue on how NOT to draw a horse’s muzzle. I actually made the sign on the wrong side correct and the right side incorrect. The mouth on the left is the way you should draw the horse’s mouth, and the one on the right is the wrong way. more
Here’s a tip that shows you the dos and don’ts when it comes to drawing a side view of a horse’s muzzle. As you can see, the muzzle on the right side has a more defined shape, while the left side is much narrower and has almost no shape or definition. more
Before we begin, let’s draw the front view of the horse’s head and face in four simple steps. Make two shapes, one oval and one round. Once that’s done, use those shapes to outline the actual structure of the horse’s head and muzzle. Then draw the eyes, nostrils and lower part of the mouth. Once you are done, you can sketch the details of the face. Finally, draw the shape of the neck, draw in the ears and finally the beautiful mane. more

Now we will draw another angle of your horse’s head and face. Draw a circle for the top of the head shape, then draw the long muzzle shape.
Next, outline the actual shape of the horse’s muzzle, as well as the eyebrow area and jaw structure.
Here you will draw the bottom of the mouth and then draw the nostrils along with a border along the muzzle and along the top of the muzzle.
Now we will use the face guides to draw the shapes of your horse’s eyes. Color them in a solid color, leave some white. Once this is done, you can outline the details on the forehead and around the eyes. Don’t forget the eyelashes on the left. more

All you have to do here is draw the shapes of the ears and then draw the tuft of hair that sits on top of the horse’s head between the ears.
Go ahead and add details to the ears, then outline the rest of the horse’s beautiful mane. Add fine details to make the hair look like this. Once this is done, you can proceed to the next step.
Finally, outline the shape of the horse’s neck. You must also add details in this field. Clear the guides and errors before exiting this step.
When all is said and done, the sign of the horse’s head and face should look like the picture you see here. Add some shadow and show your work to others. Don’t forget to upload your art to Drago so others can see how you did it!

Follow our step-by-step guide on how to draw a horse’s head.
1. Start with three lines marking the base of the ears, eyes and nostrils. The distance from the base of the ears to the eyes will be about half the distance from the eyes to the nostrils if measured halfway down the face. The ears are closer together than the eyes, and the nostrils are even closer together.
3. Draw a circle for the nose. Make sure it’s not centered around the nostrils, as you won’t see most of the farthest nostrils. The lower right quadrant of the frame will mark the chin. Add an oval shape to the cheek.

4. Now you have a rough sketch, you can start sketching all the details. Try to make all your lines curve inward or outward, rather than going in straight lines. Remember that the recording is higher than the base of the ears; the ears are not on top of the head, but on its sides.
6. Now you are ready to decide if you want to continue with pencil or fill in the outline with pen before coloring it.
Top tip: Be careful not to press too hard on the paper, otherwise it will be difficult to rub the lines later.
