If you want to create a decorative epoxy inlay in your material, use any standard countersink or inlay router bit. Cut the pocket to the desired depth with the hand router, fill it with resin, then sand or smooth flush.

Paper Bow Tie
Reduce errors, inaccuracies and problems when creating complex shapes with perfect symmetry. We have templates to fit many of our odd shaped silicone molds so you can cut and shape the wood pieces to fit our molds perfectly before pouring the resin.
All you need is a template, a countersunk head and a routing table. Even the most basic routers can shape 1.5″ thick fabric. I’m a bit obsessed with bow ties as you can see here, here and here. They’re easy to make and a great beginner sew.
As an added element to the design, I thought I’d shake things up a bit this time and mix and match these bow ties.
What makes these work is that they are authentic bow ties that you tie together like I posted here and are two separate pieces so you can mix and match them.

The process is similar to Lil Mister Bow Ties. This time I simplified the tutorial a bit and added a free pattern.
* Fabric – a fairly large scrap or 1/4 yard if cut on the bias, you may need 1/3 or 1/2 yard
Swimsuit hooks (found in the ideas aisle with snaps and buckles, get a 3/4 inch hanger, each bow tie requires 1 hook, see picture above)
* I use high quality woven cotton for all my bow ties. I think the boys will do well. Depending on the color and quality, it can work for men, but for men I recommend the featherweight interfacing or the wool-backed silk blend. You can also choose to add interfacing to the cotton fabric.

There is a size chart that shows approximately how many inches to add to the end of the bow tie pattern. The size chart shows a neck size of 10-12 or 14-14.5 inches.
Note: This is mostly an untested free sample. I tested the chart measurements on two of my sons, so that’s a pretty safe assumption, but not as thoroughly tested as the paid model. Neck sizes vary by body type, so your child may not fit the age-specific size chart perfectly. If you want to go off your own measurements, follow the instructions in my basic bow tie post here. Be sure to measure the child’s neck around the collar of the shirt. This size is slightly larger than their actual neck.
