The shirt collar should be placed between the bow tie fabric and the metal clip (not between two pieces of metal) to secure your bow tie. With the drawing in front of you, place your fingers in front of the bow with your fingers on either side of the iron (you will feel the ends of the iron under the fabric). Gently press your finger forward to open the bow. Place the collar of your shirt between the bow tie and the metal clip and close to secure the tie.
