The cursive capital F also resembles a capital handwriting form like many other letters. Lowercase cursive is the more difficult of the two. The capital letter F is like many other letters in the cursive alphabet and does not combine with its lower case counterparts when forming a word. However, the lower case f connects when forming words.

Cursive Capital F

Once you are comfortable writing the letter f in cursive, practice writing “fe” and “fa” together. These are called connectors, correct letter combinations, or regular letter pairs. Depending on your study habits, it won’t take long to learn the correct combinations of letters. Practice will help you understand how cursive works to form words.

As you can see in the diagram (above), start the capital letter F on the top line, creating a top line of the F line. From the top center of the F, bring your stroke to the bottom line, making a small tail from the left side. Then, cross the F in the middle with one line.

In the middle, start a lowercase f below the dotted line. Bring your stroke to the top line and bend around to the left and under the bottom line. Once you are below the bottom line, return your stroke to the right side and make a small tail of the letter on the right side to connect with the other letters.
