Simple Bunny Face Paint

Simple Bunny Face Paint – Halloween is generally associated with hideous, bloody and scary costumes, but since we don’t celebrate Halloween in Slovenia, why not create something a little cuter. Maybe I’ll make something more suitable for Halloween if I have time, but in the meantime here’s a cute bunny that can be used at any costume party. I took a few ideas from the internet and put them together in my own way. Who doesn’t love rabbits, right?!

I started with eye makeup, using three different shades to slowly build up the crease. Lighter pink on the top of the face and darker pink concentrated in the crease. Then I used concealer and cut the eyelid down to the winged part of the eyeliner. I applied a shimmery blush on my lid and then applied a shimmery nude that contains pink shimmer to add some shine. I used black liquid liner and created a slightly thicker, winged liner.

I used white face paint and created another waterline. This opens your real eye and gives you the eyes of a puppy, this time a rabbit. I also used a black pencil and drew on the bottom lashes. Later I realized that it would be prettier if I used single lashes. Looks more cartoonish. I applied a white pencil to the waterline.

This look definitely called for false lashes, so I tried to find more dramatic lashes, but my collection of false lashes is lame. So I trimmed another pair of lashes and added a few extra outer corners to the full lash. I wanted my eyes to look hazy but a little more winged. In the inner corner, I applied some white matte shadows, but I didn’t want anything to shine.

I also drew fluffy fur on the inside of the eyebrows. For this I used white face paint and a small brush.

I also used white paint to paint the nose and mouth of the white rabbit. I used white paint as the base for the nose and applied pink eyeshadow. The mouth area is mostly white face paint, some brown eye shadow for this line, and black eyeliner for enlarged pores. I used a pink lip liner and only applied the top lip. I left the bottom white.

On the rest of the face I applied as usual – foundation and concealer. I also used some contour shadow to highlight the cheeks. I applied the fake freckles with a brown liquid line. The cheeks were painted in this beautiful shade of pink all over the bridge of the nose. I also highlight with a highlighter a little more pink tone.

All this look needs at the end is bunny ears. I have black ones that I have had for a while. They are not the prettiest. Or you can just use a hair tie and make your own out of paper or even knitting needles and textiles. I curled my hair because it looked better with bunny ears and looked more romantic.

It was a lot of fun to paint and mix. It’s nice to just draw and not think about everything being perfect and aligned. I also think that you don’t really need a lot of material to recreate it. White face paint is something your makeup might be missing, but it’s available at most Halloween drugstores. You can also use white liquid eyeliner if you have it.

All you really need for a standard bunny makeup look is white face paint, black eyeliner, and an eyeshadow palette full of shades you want to incorporate into your look (pink is a good start). First, use white face paint and a small makeup brush and apply it to the brow area, tip of the nose, and around the mouth. Along the edge of the white, use bristles to create small, fur-like strokes of white makeup. Then with a black pencil draw a mustache and extended eyelashes. To complete the look, add eyeshadow in any shade you like.
