It’s a good idea to start with a lighter pencil like 2H or 3H. A thin pencil works best because it sticks to the paper more easily when drawing basic shapes. Keep your movements fluid and free during this process. After all, the rose is a living thing, and keeping that in mind will guide you every step of the way.
Draw a basic flowering diagram. It is not a perfect circle. It just needs to be rounded. Add a guide showing the center of the rose. My guide is a round diamond shape.
