Download a free penguin craft template. These pages include everything you need to make this fun craft – including the heart and tree templates. In the next step, you’ll attach the templates to sheets of colored paper to cut out the shapes.
Once you have the prints, staple them to construction paper and cut out the shapes you want.
How To Make A Penguin Soft Toy
Note: If you want to do this craft with a group of kids, you can staple the template to 10 sheets of copy paper, 5 sheets of cardboard, or 5-8 sheets of construction paper.
So, did you know, you can staple 10 pieces of copy paper together and cut out 10 shapes at once?! That’s my secret to making it quick and easy. Stapling the paper is very important because it ensures that it doesn’t move when you cut. The more staples the better. Card stock is the thickest so you can only cut 5 sheets at a time.
Tip: When cutting, if you cut any part of the pages that have staples, be sure to re-stap the remaining pages. Whenever you are cutting multiple sheets at once, make sure they are always joined together!
I recommend having a finished craft so the kids can see what the final version will look like.
Penguin Craft Activity
Step 6: Optional: Bend your hands toward the penguin’s belly. Then glue the heart or tree to the hand. Don’t forget to write your name on the back.

Today we made penguin dolls! The kids were really excited to make these and had so much fun making them. I pre-cut all the pieces of construction paper and glued the body down so they wouldn’t have to worry about using it right away and it falling apart. I suggest doing it this way. I got this idea from StorytimeCat but couldn’t find a pattern for it. I made my own to share with you. We also used peel-and-stick googly eyes instead of black shapes, but that would be fine.
This was a really fun story! Maybe I was in a super mood, but we all had a lot of fun. Those were the favorite books of the day

But he really enjoyed all the books. Techie is a classic, and I love reading all of his books. Of course, the penguin doll was a huge hit as I knew it would be. I had planned to do this program last week, but we had a 2 hour delay at school. None showed up, so I got to enjoy this week instead.
