Parting Of The Red Sea Bible Verse

Parting Of The Red Sea Bible Verse – Exodus epic. The evil leader of a slave nation faces off against the most powerful man in the world. Hail, frogs, flies and rivers of blood ravaged the most prosperous nation on earth. God miraculously opened the floodgates so that His people could be delivered from captivity.

(2014). While these movies get some things right, the real story of Egypt gets lost for modern tastes or more sensitive stories.

Which is a shame, because I believe the true story of Egypt has powerfully influenced our secular world in a number of ways.

During Exodus, God relentlessly sought His glory and created Sovereignty to achieve it. In the burning bush, he gathers eight self-doubting men who would kill themselves in the past, leads their people out of slavery and prays in the wilderness (Exodus 3:1-4:11).

In the plague, God used the elements of his creation to demonstrate his superiority and power over the Egyptian gods (Exodus 7-12). By hardening Pharaoh’s heart (4:21; 7:3; 9:12; 10:1, 20, 27; 11:10; 14:4, 8, 17), he demonstrated his respect for world rulers and Sovereignty of the country.

Only God deserves all the praise – which drives many in our secular culture crazy. While secular thought may tolerate some “religious diversity” or say “you can believe your truths and I believe them,” Exodus makes it clear that one day every false god will be crushed and everyone will bow the knee before our Creator and Judge. (Philippians 2:10-11).

God is not some big man who craves attention. He is a loving creator who serves his good purpose by saving people for himself. No angry nation or stubborn leader can steal his glory or hinder his goodwill towards the world or his people.

God’s wrath was unleashed against Pharaoh of Egypt. The Egyptian leaders ordered the Hebrews to cut off their male offspring (Exodus 1:15-16), enslave God’s chosen people, and force them to serve Egypt instead of God (Exodus 5:1, 7:16, etc.). The divine wrath of God caused the final plague, which took the life of Egypt’s firstborn, from Pharaoh’s house to Egyptian slaves to livestock (Exodus 12:29-30). God even graciously warned them (Exodus 11:4-7).

In our permissive secular world, God’s just judgment is not the most popular topic of conversation. Yet our culture calls for justice, which can only be found in a sovereign God who sets the standard and executes judgment on sinners.

Without the Supreme God of Justice, we cannot expect ultimate justice to befall the oppressors, abusers, traffickers and murderers of this world. A perfectly just God who judges all evil can help us endure this unjust world.

The Exodus from Egypt is the greatest picture of salvation in the Old Testament, and it represents freedom from slavery to sin under the leadership of the new and better Moses, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 3:1-6).

Moses And The 10 Plagues—god Delivers His People (exodus 3 15)

A secular worldview leaves no room for salvation because it requires confession of sin as defined in the Bible. According to Kevin DeYoung, secular confession is not “woe me, for I am a man of unclean lips,” but “woe me, for I am unclean!” It is not

With personal autonomy and the discovery of the real world as the main goals of a worldview, Christian redemption is both disturbing and surprising. The secular world needs to understand the existence and consequences of sin. Even Israel could not escape God’s judgment without sacrificing the blood of the Lamb (Exodus 12:1-3). No sin can deprive us of the salvation offered through the blood of the true atoning Lamb on the cross (1 Corinthians 5:7).

God gave his laws in Exodus 20-24, and as always, context is key. God reminded the Israelites how He delivered them from Egypt (Exodus 19:4; 20:2).

He explained how the Law helped them fulfill their vocation among the nations (Exodus 19:5-6; 20:3-17; Ephesians 2:1-10; Titus 2:11-14 ). Removing the law from this loving and relational environment distorts its purpose and distorts our understanding of God. We must obey him because he saved us, not because a divine servant requires us to obey him in order to be saved.

I worry that Christianity is in poor taste because many of us in our secular age miss this crucial point of leadership and church. Driven by a gospel that produces life and joy, a conformist understanding of the law leads to fear, pain, and at worst, apostasy.

Exodus 1-20 may be the most vivid story in the Old Testament, but it’s only half the book. The second half is the plan and construction of the Tabernacle, the earth where God dwells. Exodus 29:46 is the main theme of the whole book: “And they will know that I am the LORD my God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt.

Our secular world promotes the idea that everyone is equally good and right, but the Tabernacle ignores this idea. The tabernacle signifies that no one is inherently good, and that no one can enter the presence of God without a mediator and a sin offering. In Jesus and also our Advocate

If the world understood what the Tabernacle represented, it would not seek to excel in the realms of stars, athletes, technology, or astronomy. “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory” (John 1:14).

There are many things in Exodus. Miraculous events may first occur, such as a burning tree, plague, the supply of manna, or the parting of the Red Sea. But the greatest miracle in Exodus and in the entire Bible is how God made it possible for sinners to live with Him.

It was 1987, an era of thermoses and juice cans, eight-track cassettes and MP3 players. I graduated from university and started my teaching career. I should have been on top of the world, but I was in so much pain. To my surprise, I had the worst stage fright I’ve ever had, having to stand in front of a less welcoming junior all day, every day.

Somehow, in the fog of commitment and sleep deprivation, I’ve thought enough about it that I know I need to get out of the industry ASAP.

In those days, job advertisements were placed in newspapers. do you remember? Every Saturday, I drive 45 minutes to a neighboring town to buy a newspaper and advertise jobs in several towns in the area. One day, Rainbow overturned on the highway. I know it’s not just for me, however, I’m thankful for God’s faithfulness: my stomach may be knotted all the time, my eyes are sunken above dark circles, but I have food, shelter, clothing, and security. I hope God has a way.

Shortly after seeing the rainbow, I noticed an ad for the concealer. I applied for the position, interviewed and got the job. He has worked in the publishing industry for 30 years. I spent my last $250 on a Ryder truck to haul my stuff.

In the fourteenth chapter of Exodus, God recorded for us the wonderful miracle of parting the Red Sea. Remember this story from Sunday School or the movie?

This is the amazing story of the Israelites fleeing four centuries of slavery in Egypt. The Egyptian army pursued them, the Red Sea was in front of them, and the Israelites were trapped. Or so they thought. God has other ideas because he is the God of possibility.
