Today I have a super cute and super easy paper project to share with you, DIY Origami Bow Ties. It’s been five years since I made my first origami bows and my love for beautiful paper bows is still growing. No gift is complete without it!
These simple bows are much easier to make than my previous ones. For starters, there are no cuts and far fewer pleats. The hardest part is opening them at the end, so if you’re making them with little ones, they may need help with the last few steps.
The most interesting thing about them is their versatility. You can use them as card decorations and gifts for both boys and girls. How about making origami shirt bags for Father’s Day and adding origami bows to match?

Turn them into hair pins or brooches. Attach them to ribbon and use them as fancy paper bows or headbands. String them together as garland for inexpensive party decorations, or stick the miniatures on cocktail sticks to decorate cupcakes. There are many clever ways to use them.

But keep your eyes open when you’re out and about. You can often find Djeco’s in independent shops and I’ve even picked up a few in garden centres, so they should always be on the lookout.
Use gift wrap or old magazines and match them to your packaging or party theme. Old coloring books are another good alternative.
Easy Paper Bow Stampin Up
1. Take a 6 x 6 origami square and cut it in half. This means that you can make 2 bows from each paper.
8. Take the left side and fold it diagonally. You want to line up the center fold with the fold you see on the right front (shown above).
15. Open the origami carefully. Press the center of the bow at the same time as you open it. I have made paper bows many times and always love it. Not only can they look sophisticated in a pinch, but they also create an interesting balance between formality and casualness.

How To Make Toilet Paper Origami
I made a bow pattern and put it in pdf format. You should be able to download it and then print it. From there, just cut the pieces (4 of them).
This is my first time making a printable pattern, if it doesn’t work please let me know in the comments section below and I’ll try to fix it. Also, please let us know your suggestions on how to improve the models in the future.
After cutting out the pattern, take the largest of the four cut pieces and shape them into a bow. It should be folded in two.
Now that you have the basic shape of the bow, you’ll want to tape down the middle of it by bending it slightly. It may be easier if one person holds the paper slightly bent while the other tapes it down.
Diy Paper Bows
Once you are satisfied with the curve of the tie, use the smallest rectangle in the pattern to cover the ribbon. Glue this to the back and fold it around the tie. Use another piece of tape to secure it (it should be on the back).
To attach the strap to the rest of the tie, take one of the two long squares from the pattern and thread it through the loop on the back of the tie. Place a piece of tape over the end of the strap with the sticky side up. Then you can pull the end of the strap without the tape until the other end is under the loop. Then take the ribbon to the left end and attach it to the loop.
At this point in the project, the bow should be complete. The only thing is to try it on!
To do this, put it on the collar and pass the strap through the loop on the back of the bow. A clip above the excess strap prevents the strap from coming undone.

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite quick and easy ways to decorate a gift, a printable paper bow pattern.
Technochic Diy Blinky Bow Ties Kit
Although I’ve made a few different paper bows on the blog (find my origami bows here and my origami bows here), this one is the easiest. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a cute bow that you can attach to a gift, card, or gift bag.
As a paper crafter, I always love a handmade touch to a gift bag or box. These origami bows have been a favorite of mine for a while, but as much as I love them, they can be a little tricky if you’re short on time.
This pattern means it couldn’t be easier to make a bow in minutes. All you have to do is cut out three bow pieces, glue the two outer tabs in the middle, and glue them to the back of the ribbon.
I’ve left the pattern blank so you can print it out on scrapbook paper like I did, or on regular lightweight card stock and use it as a template.
