Once you have the file Print it out and cut out the shape of the basket using the gray lines as a guide.
Bring out colored pencils and markers and encourage the children to Paint according to the style of the template. You can add additional details such as glitter, sequins, or any embellishments. that you want!
Use the lines and instructions printed on the template. Fold the gray line inside. Don’t forget to fold the triangle inside. Then fasten the basket with tape or glue.

When you’re done You can cut out the template and use it as a stencil to draw on thick paper. (We used 400g acrylic paper) We chose thicker paper so the box can support the chocolate eggs! However, you don’t need fancy acrylic paper – cardboard craft paper will help. **Tip: Make tracing easier by using a glue stick to attach the template to the paper**.

These instructions make an Easter card that measures about 5-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. You can use my tutorial to make a large basket. Just stick some sheets together first and follow the general instructions. Want a small basket? Check out my new Easter basket template with a personalized title.
First, choose the color of your Astrobrights stock paper. Be sure to check out my palette for color combination ideas. Go Download My Free Printable Easter Box Template (PDF) Then print the template on colored card stock. Cut off 1 inch on each short side. Place the cut strips aside to use for basket handles later.
Score two dashed lines on the template by dragging the back of your craft knife along the edge of the ruler – just do it gently. to score instead of cutting through paper. If you are not using my printable template Measure 7cm from the top long edge of your paper and score the line.
How To Make A Paper Basket Paper Basket Weaving 2
Now on the left side, cut three 1-inch wide strips, making sure to stop at your score line. So you have three squares that intersect at the top and three at the bottom. My Easter Basket Printable Template shows where to cut these strips.
Duplicate the right side of the basket template. You will have room for your basket as shown below.
See the square in the middle above and below? You will become a triangle Drop the midpoint like that or follow the lines on my free printable template.
Now let’s decorate your Easter basket! Cut 1” strips of the remaining three colors and cut them out.
