Dr. Seuss’s famous cover image is similar to the ideas described in Kupferberg’s statement above. The fact that it was featured on the cover of his last book made the image more public than any other Succinct image.
Oh The Places Youll Go
It is fitting then that her final cover image has come full circle as a reflection of her life, and a moving symbol for generations of adults. As Dr. Seuss’ widow, Audrey Geisel, said

Dr. Seuss™ Oh, The Places You’ll Go Archway
In the summer of 1946, a friend from New York invited Ted Geisel, also known as Dr. Seuss, to vacation at Villa Narcissa on the Pacific Ocean southwest of Los Angeles. Ted’s biographers wrote: “After a few golden days, Ted announced that he wanted to spend the rest of his life in a place that would allow him to ‘roam around outside in his pajamas.'” His book cover.
During their meeting, the interviewer asked about a framed target hanging on the wall. Target played the “dead center” bullseye. He was told that his father was a marksman, who won the world pistol the year Ted was born, adding:
The concept of what is clearly intended has found its way into the example of the final cover of Dr. Seuss as the central theme of the work of art.
