The Modern Language Association (MLA) is the organization responsible for developing the MLA format. It was developed as a means for researchers, students and scholars in literature and languages to uniformly format their papers and assignments. This unified or consistent approach to developing a document or assignment is easy to read. Today, MLA is not only used in literature and language subjects; many others have adopted it as well.
The Modern Language Association published the 9th and latest editions of its MLA Handbook in April 2021. The handbook provides comprehensive instructions on citing, as well as guidelines for submitting work that complies with the rules and standards of the Modern Language Association. Although we’re not affiliated with the MLA, our citation experts have brought you this thoughtful and informative style guide.

While many professors, lecturers, and publications allow electronic submissions, some prefer printed paper copies. This section focuses on the types of paper used to print presentations.
If you choose to print your cards, use only white paper. Do not use ivory, off-white or any other shade or color.
Choose standard, high-quality paper to print your project on. Do not use cardboard. There is no need to use resume paper. Use typical high-quality printer or copy paper.

In terms of size, 8 ½ x 11 inch paper is recommended. If you would like to use a different size, please ask your teacher before the presentation.
Use a one-inch margin around the entire page. The running head should be the only item seen in the one-inch edge (more on the running head below).
Most word processing programs automatically use one-inch margins. Check the settings section of the program page to find the margin size.
No need to manually measure half an inch. Use the “Tab” button on your keyboard to create half an inch of space.
How To Cite An Interview In Mla
MLA research paper format requires that the entire research paper or dissertation in MLA format includes double spacing. Double-spaced should be found between the written body of the work, in the title, and on the MLA reference page.
While it may be tempting to add a few lines between the title, heading, and opening, those lines should be double-spaced.
In MLA documents, any easy-to-read font can be used. Many types of fonts, such as books and articles, use easy-to-read fonts, so if you’re looking for the right font style, check out other fonts for guidance. The two most common fonts are Arial and Times New Roman.
It is important for readers to be able to tell the difference between italic and regular fonts, so if you choose a font style other than Arial or Times New Roman, make sure the difference between the two types is obvious.

A font size of 12 points is recommended, as this is the default size for many word processing programs. Other standard sizes are available, such as 11 lb or 11.5 lb.
Some teachers or lecturers will provide guidance on how to protect hard copies of projects. If your instructor doesn’t give you expectations or guidance, a simple staple in the upper left corner will suffice. Some teachers allow paper clips or binders if a stapler is not available.
Do not fold the top left corner to hold the pages together. Pages can spread easily, resulting in card clutter. While binder clips and plastic holders are nice, they actually add bulk to a teacher or lecturer who may want to take the paper home for grading. Keep the binding simple and clean. Staples work best, binders and paper clips are the next best thing.
As always, follow any directions your teacher or teacher may provide. The guides found here are just suggestions.

The Formatting Research Document web page gives you two options when creating a title for your project:
The title of the assignment must be placed below the due date, after the double space. Align the title so that it is centered in the MLA format. Titles must be written in standard alphabet without underlining, bold, italics or any quotation marks. If your title contains titles from other sources, please only include italics or quotation marks.
Most research papers use the standard MLA format title, as shown in the image above. If your instructor asks you to create a separate title page, ask him for the specs. The MLA has no specific instructions for developing an MLA title page. We recommend using MLA headers for your project.
If your teacher or professor needs a separate title page, but no guidelines or specifications are provided, here are some suggestions from the MLA guidelines:

You can create a title page using the Title Page Creator, or omit the title page entirely and use a header.
The run header is a short header located in the upper right corner of every page in the project. According to the Modern Language Association’s Style Centre (online), the running head includes:
Before adding this information manually on any page, please check that the word processor you are using can automatically add this information for you. Try looking at the settings area where you can add or modify page numbers or titles.
Citations are added to assignments to help defend an argument, prove a point, add emphasis, or simply activate a project.
Chicago/turabian Style And How To Use It
Quotes should not take up the bulk of your essay or assignment. Citations should be used sparingly and citations longer than 4 lines should be formatted as MLA block citations. Enhance and expand your own writing and ideas with direct quotes from external sources.
Quoted words belong to the individual who said or wrote them and must therefore be credited to that individual’s work. Thank him or her by adding what’s called a “text citation” to the body of the item.

Creating An Mla Bibliography
The protagonist’s bewildering experience is materialized and explained when he says “I didn’t know that at the time, but a baseball card – for me – can be used as a time machine” (Gutman 5).
In the example above, Dan Gutman’s name is not included in the sentence. It is enclosed in parentheses at the end of the sentence. Here’s an example of a correct MLA-style reference in the body of the project.
3. A block quote to use when adding 4 or more lines of large quotas in a project.
The Modern Language Association generally advocates the use of the references described above, but footnotes and endnotes are also acceptable forms of reference in papers.

Footnotes and endnotes can be used in a variety of situations. Here are some scenarios where such a reference might be appropriate:
To include a footnote or endnote, add a superscript number to the end of the sentence to which the footnote or endnote refers. They can be included in the middle of a sentence if necessary, but be sure to add each punctuation mark, such as a comma or period. Find a location that does not distract the reader from the content and flow of the paper.
