Today I’m sharing a “homemade” wooden clothespin tutorial that’s perfect for your upcoming Easter and/or spring holiday projects! Kids of all ages can learn to make cute and fun paper plate lady crafts this summer. This easy craft is perfect for home, school, or camping!

Summer vacation is finally here! Crafts are a wonderful way to maintain creativity, literacy, and fine motor skills during summer vacation. I love crafting with children’s books. It’s a great way to spend quality time with the kids.

After reading The Lady’s Life by John Hamelman, my kids and I made a simple and fun paper plate lady.

1. After collecting the materials, invite your child to paint red on the back of the paper board. While the paint is building, use a large circle paper punch to draw a black circle around the lady’s head.

2. Use the conference paper to draw a black circle and 2 white circles for the lady’s eyes and a white circle for the eyes. Alternatively, children can simply draw circles or draw and cut circles themselves.

3. Place 2 small black circles on top of the white circle to make the eyes of the lady. Cut a small mouth for the lady from the red paper and then glue it to the lady’s face.

5. Next, cut a 5-inch piece of black pipe cleaner. Fold it in half, then tape it to the back of the lady’s head for the antennae.

6. Cut six 2-inch strips of black pipe cleaner. 3 tapes of this pipe cleaner are legs on either side of the ladies body.
