Kindergarten Schedule Template – I often get questions about the kindergarten schedule from various people. Sometimes parents, other teachers, and even uneducated people say: “When I was in kindergarten, we slept!” and wonder what it looks like today. And I hear: “What do you do all day?” Well, believe me, we’re busy! If you know me or have been visiting this site for a while, you know that I am a big advocate of having fun in the classroom. I am blessed to be able to teach in a place where play is not only encouraged but is a part of every classroom in kindergarten every day. For this reason, many people ask me how it fits into our times. I thought it would be nice to share my preschool schedule with you!

Kindergarten Schedule Template
Before sharing my schedule with you, I want to say that every class is different in every school around the world. What works for one doesn’t work for another, and schedules often vary based on district requirements, bus schedules, etc.

My preschool schedule is just an overview of our days as I’ve been asked about it a lot. In this post, I will not go into detail about every aspect of our day. But I hope to answer the main question

I recently switched to the number corner and calendar in the morning and I love it – I really feel like my class and preferences flow better in the morning than later in the day during math.
Our literacy block focuses on mini-lessons, writing time, lots of reading and reading aloud, and free centers where students navigate their choices and I meet in small groups.

We don’t nap or nap, but spend some time with the lights off, just telling a story/regrouping. These babies are very young and the day is busy!

During this time, my children plan to play in our classroom. We have a cooking area, blocks, cars, legos, puzzles and lots more.
Our room is arranged in such a way that our work areas are actually integrated with play areas. You won’t find toys on the periphery of the room, on the contrary, the centers are distributed throughout and in well-defined spaces.
Children decide on the plan, but they can change the plan and move freely between zones. During this time, I support the development of social-emotional skills and also work on scientists in an authentic way, as they naturally arise through play.
For example, if I have a student who can’t count one-to-one correspondence, I can build a LEGO tower with him and count the bricks. If a student cannot read CVC words, we can do puzzles or read books together.

This is a time when they are constantly learning and it is very important for their development. I can’t imagine our day without her!
Remember that they have the right to play freely and I do not interfere with their play. Rather, if they are interested in playing and learning with me, I can approach them, but I never disturb them.
For example, if a child was already engrossed in building Legos, I would never go there and make them count. Only if we start building together or they are interested.
Mathematics is a structure similar to literacy. Routine is very important at this age and they develop when they have similar systems throughout the day.

We have mini-lessons, number talks, and math centers (similar to learning to read and write) where students are free to navigate their choices, and I meet in small groups.
Note – at the beginning of the year we spend more time on layoffs and packing – it takes a while to bring it down to ten minutes. 😉

There are many families who are home for the first time this year and we understand that planning your curriculum and daily homeschooling schedule can be a daunting and overwhelming task at times… but it doesn’t have to be! (I promise!)
We’ve received a ton of requests to share our daily homeschooling schedule with you, so here you go! We’ll provide three different sample homeschooling schedules to give you an idea of ​​how we organize our days – we’ll even include an alternative hybrid schedule that includes private classroom lessons.

Free Preschool Lesson Planning Resources
Note: As eclectic homeschoolers, we use a variety of curriculum sources and often mix things up from week to week; However, we follow a structured daily routine to maintain consistency and ensure that we do not leave any gaps in our children’s education.
While there are specific hours in our daily homeschooling schedule, we provide plenty of flexibility and flexibility to stay within your workflow. This could mean we spend an extra 20 minutes in the journal that day and a little less time online playing extra games. Or maybe the kids decide to do their art project in the morning and have a late lunch that day. The thing is, our daily timeframes are not as rigid and specific as our schedule – we use our schedule as a guide, not a hard and fast rule.
Stick to the set deadline! Each family will have a different approach that works best for them, and it can take weeks of trial and error to figure out how much time you should spend on lessons in each subject and how long it will take your child(ren) to complete the lessons. Adjust your schedule as needed until you find the flow that best suits your unique situation!
Below are three sample daily homework schedules that we personally used on our day at home. The first schedule is the whole-home schedule we used in grades 2-5, the second schedule also applies to grades 2-5 with additional personal enrichment lessons in the classroom, and the third is a sample homeschool schedule.
