One day, God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh and tell the people of Nineveh not to do evil. Jonas didn’t want to go. He thought it was a dangerous task. So Jonah fled to the sea and boarded a ship bound for another city.
Then came the wind and the storm. Jonah realizes that a storm is coming because he is running from what God has told him to do.
He then told the men on board that if they threw it overboard, God would stop the storm. They threw him in and it stopped. They were so grateful that they stopped and thanked God.

Jonah stayed in the black belly of the whale for three days and three nights. While inside the fish, he thanked God for saving him from drowning and begged God to forgive him for not going to Nineveh as God had commanded him to do.
Finally, after the third day, God made the fish spit Jonah on dry ground, and God told him to go to Nineveh. He obeyed.
