Details on how I got these outfits for as cheap as possible because that’s what I love when it comes to costumes!

I borrowed some ugly sweaters from friends. For the hair, I placed an empty water bottle in the middle of the head, put the hair up and tied it with a rubber band. I also added a bow left over from my Christmas wrapping.

I bought the pink fabric on sale at JoAnn’s for $5.09. My mom’s friend who works as a seamstress made us a suit for only $10. I found a large plastic ornament at Wal-Mart for 4.98. Her headband was $1.00 at JoAnn’s. We already had pink trainers and I just put her in pink clothes.

I found a fluffy reindeer at Carter’s for $16, the hat was $7, but both pieces can still be used in the winter, as a one-time costume is not a waste of money.

The green pajamas are a ninja turtle (from Coles) that we already owned, we just asked him to wear the shirt backwards so the turtle print wouldn’t show. The slippers were from Carter’s for $10.80. The fluffy green fabric was from Joann’s and cost $2.43. A red fleece sweatshirt I got at a local baby store (“Once Upon a Time”) for $3.72 and attached large cotton balls (that I already had) with fabric glue. We already had a Santa hat (which he refused to wear) and a red sack. Grinch and Max makeup was a face paint kit I found at the Dollar Tree for only a dollar!.

It was the most I’ve spent so far, but I’m not so sad that the more expensive things (reindeer fur, reindeer hat, monster slippers and big jewelry) can be used again. Themed holiday parties should be used to be the best things to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
