How To Make A Bow With A Fork

How To Make A Bow With A Fork – How to make an onion with a fork or a comb? It is not very difficult. In fact, it is quite easy to make a bow from a fork. All you need is a length of tape and a plastic or metal fork.

Holding the fork in your left hand, take your length of tape and place it on the fork. Leave a few inches of the “tail” hanging under the fork when you start. You will need this “tail” later, because you want it long enough to be able to manipulate it. Pull the other end of the strap towards the front of the fork and over the top and then down the back of the fork.

When you bring the ribbon forward through the middle prongs, you want to pass the ribbon all the way over all the loops on the left side of the fork. Then put the back of the fork through the middle teeth. Be sure to keep everything steady on the fork.

Hold everything in the back firmly with your left fingers and take the original “tail” that we left when we started. Insert this on the outside (right in the image) of the middle teeth and apply again. Turn the fork and make a half knot. Finally, remove the onion from the fork and add.

I was browsing Pinterest when I noticed a fork with a ribbon wrapped around it. So I went on YouTube and watched videos on how to make these easy, cute, little bows. I want to share this simple DIY.

Gather the desired ribbon cut to about 6 inches, a pair of scissors and a fork. For larger arches, you can use a wide-toothed comb. When using a fork or comb, always make sure to use the same amount of “prongs” for each side of the bow, otherwise your bow will be unbalanced when you’re done.

Wrap the tape around the fork, leaving the tape on the back of the fork longer than the front tape.

Wrap the back strip forward. Insert that strip into the middle open space below the work strip.

Then put the strip behind the fork and go back through the same open space this time above the working strip.

Work with the bow so that the ribbon fits as much as you want and here is the finished bow.

For the images in this tutorial, I will explain both single loop and double loop forks. (By single and double loops I mean the amount of loops on one side only.  A loop is what you usually think of when you think of a bow.)

Leaving about 4″ of ribbon as a “tail”, weave the remaining ribbon between the tines of the fork.

Repeat the process, adding more rows according to the number of loops you want in the last bow. To determine the number of rows you want, take the desired number of loops (on one side), double it, and add 1.  For example, if you want a fork bow with two loops, you need 5 rows (2 × 2) . +1).

Then pull the tape up to the top of the fork to make room at the bottom.

Cut a 4 inch piece of ribbon. Pass the ribbon through the middle tines of the fork under your fabric.
