How To Draw Block Letters Alphabet – Below you will find a simple step by step tutorial on how to design bubble letters and a bubble letter coloring page. A tutorial shares how to draw each letter.
Most students learn how to draw bubble letters first by tracing stick letters, but this tutorial uses a different approach. The tracing tends to create a lot of straight lines with curved ends, which doesn’t give the expanding letters a balloon look. A better way, I say, is to skip the stick letters and go in and start drawing the uppercase letters. It only takes a couple of steps, and of course, there’s nothing to delete afterwards. Make them stand out even more by adding a drop shadow and a small highlight.

To draw 3D capital letters, start by drawing thick letters in the center of your paper using a pencil. Then mark an “X” in the top left or right corner of the paper. Then draw lines from the edges of your letters to the “X” mark, and don’t forget to draw lines on the far corners of your letters too. After drawing the lines, use them as a guide to create thick dimensions in each letter. Finally, erase the pencil lines and outline the final drawing with a black pen or marker to make it stand out. Ok, so in the image above, I’ve given 3 different examples of how to color the letters. Whatever you do, keep it consistent. If all the darkest shadows are on the sides of the letter in a letter, make sure that every letter has the darkest shadows on the sides. If all shadows are at the bottom of a letter, make sure all letters show this. Either way, the letter looks three dimensional if the coloring is consistent.
For the third row, the lights would come from the top and right…same as the top row, however, the light is slightly higher and further to the right.

With these letters, add a drop shadow to the left and below each border. This will make it look realistically three dimensional.
This is much more complicated than the previous two examples. As you can see in the “F” example above. You have to turn the shadow letter down and at an angle to the right. The first shadow in the examples is if the letter was at an angle, and so the shadow is at a smaller angle than the second letter in each example. The second example for each letter is a letter on a table or flat surface. Use each example given to help you draw these shadows. Once you draw these shadows, try it on your own 3D letters. To draw bubble letters, start by writing the basic shapes of the letters you want. You can use upper or lower case letters. Then draw an outline around each letter with rounded edges. To make this easier, try surrounding each line of the letter with an oval. If you’re drawing a curved letter, like a “C,” use a series of curved ovals to cover the entire line. For letters with an opening in the middle, like “A,” draw a circle or triangle inside the opening. Once you’re happy with the outline you’ve created, use a pen or marker to paint over it. Erase the pencil lines you used to make the basic letter shapes, as well as the overlapping lines if you used the oval technique. If you want, decorate your bubble letters by adding shadows, shading, or fun colors or patterns. Experiment with different techniques until you find the style you like best.
