If you think about roses and their different stages of bloom, you know that all roses start out as buds. And they opened it from there.
Therefore, our basic shape for construction is similar to the one we drew to draw our rose.

Remember, we always want to paint with basic materials whenever possible. It helps us understand what we are painting. But it is compelling to take a close look at what we see. For more information, see How to use chart styles.
Starting at the bottom of your main shape, draw two lines that will begin to form your flower. Your line should look like a curved Y.
Then draw a line like half of the curved S shape. This will represent the center of our rose diagram.
Now draw the middle left side of the rose. Note that the two middle lines almost form a heart.

As the rose blooms, parts of each petal will begin to split. You’ll want to make sure to add some detail to the carved parts in your rose painting.
Notice how I’ve drawn the shape of mine and how it gets stronger as it gets closer to the base of the rose. You want to have flexibility in your line to make your drawing more interesting.
Now do the same for the next layer. I drew mine with a slightly crooked edge. You can make yours rounder if you think it’s better.
Don’t be afraid to experiment a bit with your lines. Take a small item and if you don’t like it, delete it and redo the line.

Allow your rose petals to overlap each other at the edges. This will make your final drawing look better.
Once you’re happy with how your rose drawing looks, finish by drawing some leaves. Don’t forget to put some links here.
By connecting our lines, we show depth in our drawings. This makes it look more interesting and less ordinary.
I use my Pitt artist pen set for almost all my drawings. Start by listing all the pencil lines you want to save. I usually use a medium tip pen for this.

For most of my drawings, I prefer a heavy outline along the outer edges. However, if you don’t know what the shape is, you can define your rose painting however you choose.
After using the medium pen, I went back with the brush to solidify my design. I circled the outer edge of my rose.
When it comes to adding color to your artwork, the possibilities are almost endless. For the rose drawing in this example, I decided to use Prismacolor colored pencils.
Start by filling in the area of your rose paint with Carmine Red (pc926). Use light pressure when applying your paint for a beautiful finish.

When I add color to my paintings, I work in an area. This is a personal preference. You can work this way or paint your entire rose in the first color before moving on to the next color.
After I got my first area, I went in with Crimson Red (pc924) and added some shadow areas.
You always want to use at least two colors in each section of your drawing. If you always use only one color in your work, you should start using other colors.
Follow the same process for your book. Start with a simple green leaf first. And then put some parts of the shadow and dark green. For the paper, I used True Green (pc910), Grass Green (pc909) and Green Green (pc908).

Half of your rose paint should be dark in the center and light on the outer edges. I have to go back and tighten the core a bit.
This was even more evident when I stepped back and looked. To fix this, I went with two reds and added a layer to my pink paint where it would be darker.
I also added some green in the red area and some red in the green area. Since red and green are complementary colors, they work well in the shade.
You can add a background pattern to your drawing or leave it blank. A nice blue will do or you can add some features and details.
