Hot Air Balloon Sewing Pattern – I have received many wonderful emails and letters from customers looking for hot air balloon boxes and fabric panels. Most of my stock in Sydney was sourced from Craft Schmaft Etsy and Big Cartel in December and January. Although there are few panels and settings left, I hear you prefer all the colors, especially the circus and the sun. Don’t be afraid! New folders are coming in different colors and there are some very interesting new features in the pipeline.
Hong Kong is an important center for the textile trade and this opens up many opportunities for Craft Schmaft. It also opens all kinds of tests for stash storage, but that’s another blog post. So, thank you for your patience and hopefully I can share some great news and new products.

Now, if you can’t find it… print it. The very talented seamstress Renegade is offering the Pink Petals kit on her blog.

To say we’ve been here for two weeks is an understatement. There will be shopping, lots of sewing, cocktails, entertainment and celebration. My Emerald Hot Air Balloons on display in my Etsy Pop Up Shop in Sydney are really interesting – some amazing products by talented designers from all over Australia and I’m proud to be a part of it . Check it out – open on Castlereagh Road until December 12th.
Sending off the emerald balloons I made at the Bondville charity auction meant I had to get rid of a mobile phone last week. In the mornings, I’m busy sewing, playing soccer, picking up for school, and whatever else I can spare. Here is the last week or so in pictures…
Huzza! Last week I was busy updating the Craft Schmaft shop with new balloon supplies, wool sheets, fabric panels and more. It’s still early days, but each of these new designs was sold at the Markets and Fairs in June (yes, I agree slowly). Enough said, I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
Let’s go crazy at Craft Schmaft. I am lucky to have my good friends Belinda, Rachel and my great mother to help me get everything ready for the market. Here’s where I’ll be in the coming weeks:

It’s a lot of work, but last night I had a proud moment watching the growth of styles, clothes and accessories ready to go.
Go to classes. The old wardrobe is no longer filled with dishes, but beautiful draped fabric panels, owl boxes, and doll zillas galore. Even though it’s a business, I really like it.
All the balloons are sewn up…. … and it’s called Carnival. Thanks so much for all the great ideas!
So, here are some flamingo species to come and record today. There must be time for another coffee.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think technology and craftsmanship can do amazing things. See the shortest. Before I started working as a designer, I was a digital development manager running campaigns for a large advertising agency. Today I am starting a project to combine my two greatest loves – digital and photography.
Since the beginning of last year, I’ve been working on converting the Hot Air Balloon Mobile into a Hot Air Balloon Education app, and now it’s proudly singing and dancing in the iTunes store. Not only that, but it was the first sewing workshop out there that I had to find myself believing. The first people!
I want to share a word on the screen to encourage and open people. I worked with a great team for the app, including video demonstrations and tutorials and basic pieces for the big picture. I’m also hoping to complete a video sewing dictionary and cell phone pictures, please send them!
The Hot Air Balloon Tutorial is available on special sale for only $4.99 to my awesome, cool blog and facebook followers.

So, thanks for your patience for being quiet here, I hope you like the app, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
P.S. Android version coming soon! P.P.S with beautiful videos and photos all take minutes to download.
I’m on my way to the Melbourne Music Festival as I write this, but I wanted to share the last of the Emerald Balloons. It’s a tough choice, thanks for your thoughts! Now I will hang up. They are on the stand. Fingers are cut off.
Everything has inspired me these days. Panto’s color of the year started with Emerald, a beautiful, bright and breezy look. Tropical plants and lush green foliage make the Sydney summer a big deal, and when I saw The Witcher, the deal was sealed. The Emerald City!

So, I need to design more balloon fabric and take some sewing time over Easter. I love how the blues and blacks play together and you never know what they will look like when sewn onto the balloons.
Now it’s just a matter of choosing the final four for Emerald City’s new hot air balloon sets and costume panels. It’s a tough choice. Usually, when you see printed fabric samples, it jumps out a bit, and some can be easily fixed. Not much now. There has been a lot of talk on Facebook and Instagram about the balloons to cut. For now, solid colors are the way to go, but I’ll finish each of them before I make a decision. I feel different about all of them. What do you mean…? I love your idea.
There was a sale at the Stitches & Craft show and I promised to post them online, so here they are. Cute Tummy Bunny and custom hot air balloon boxes are available at the Craft Schmaft store and on Etsy.
I thought the red would sell faster, but let me tell you, the groups of hooks are followed closely by the triangle.

Needless to say, the white pork and deer were very popular and I stocked up on extras every night after the show closed!
Single hot air balloons up and away – Pinwheel (top), Red Stripe and Triangle. It was sewn, stuffed, cut and flown for photography. Fabric panels have arrived, new patterns have been printed. At the end of next week I will be at Stitches and Craft in Sydney, where these beauties will be available as kits and fabric panels.
Now, I know there aren’t many of you in Sydney and I love that! So I will be putting it in the online store next week for you lovely blog readers. Yes. You speak first.
Thank you so much for your comments, participation and support – I loved every minute of doing this.

The defense continues! Out of all the patterns I made last week, I narrowed it down to three for the sewing and crafting show.
Must be red! This is why many of you love Finders Keepers markets.
Then there are my personal favorites, hooks. Colors! Hopefully I’ll be back with my DSLR later this week so I can show you some better photos, but I made a ball that I can’t wait to share with you. It’s a full product from the Stitches and Craft show in Sydney and hopefully will be available in the online store and Etsy from March 5th. Alas!
When I started this blog in 2007, I had no idea that it would lead to such amazing things. Craft Schmaft is excited to bring you sock toys, soft phones, clothing storage and craft inspiration from all over. It all comes from a serious geek (that’s me) and a weird chick living in Sydney, Australia. It does not support older versions of your browser to ensure the safety of user data. Update to the latest version.
