In my cable experience, non-stencil patterns are ideal for any project. It’s the stencil material you use, what medium, and the overall size of the project that makes a big difference. It also makes a difference whether you cut these stencils by hand or with a cutting machine.

I love to make my own decorations, especially pillows. I don’t know why, but pillowcases are quite expensive.

I recommend cutting the fabric regardless of the vinyl, transfer tape, or adhesive. The only problem is that it’s not reusable, so you’ll need to make a new stencil every time you make a new project to avoid unwanted paint transfer.

This is exactly what happened with formula cookies. I saw wonderful cookies that other people were making and I wanted to know how to make them. Here’s a tutorial on how to make a reusable cookie stencil.
I used food grade mylar sheets for this project. Since I didn’t heat the stencil, I assumed BPA transfer would be minimal. However, I will admit that this is not the most fun stamping project. I have yet to find a tool that works well for stamping food. I have tried spray food coloring and different frosting recipes. The problem is really bleeding through the reusable stencil. Using vinyl on cookies is definitely not an option.
Why I Prefer Wall Stencils Over Wallpaper

Here I layered different stencils to create a multi-colored monogram wreath. It looks a little faded in the picture, but it’s really cute. I seem to hand paint everything I make… just with a stencil 🙂

The best bet is to wait until the paint dries. The main reason for this is that we sometimes make mistakes when removing the stencil. For example, it was not cleaned perfectly or we accidentally slipped it. When the residue on the stencil is still wet, it can contaminate the results of the stencil. Then, if we can’t lift the stencil perfectly, we tend to drag the stencil out. This can also distort the results.
