Food Diary Template For Kids – Happy Monday afternoon! It’s been almost 2 weeks since my last healthy mama post and honestly I haven’t been the healthiest of mamas in that time. I’ve had a hard time controlling myself when it comes to food so I came up with a trick I’ve used in previous food journaling and today I’m sharing a printable food journal with you all!
In fact I find myself not only planning my meals, but before I sit down to eat them, I also break them down and write down exactly what I’m going to eat and the calorie content. I find that the simple act of forcing myself to write everything down keeps me from overeating. For example, sometimes when I make something for the kids that I wouldn’t eat (like mac n cheese) I might grab a little bit without even thinking. I don’t really want to bother thinking about the calorie value of two bites of mac n cheese when it comes to food journaling, so I don’t bother eating it. Once being lazy isn’t necessarily a bad thing!

Now on the scaleā¦ In the last 2 weeks I have gained 1.1 lbs. Since starting my Healthy Mama Challenge 6 months ago I have lost a total of 11.1 pounds or 6.4%.
This week I almost finished my training for the Flap Jack and Jill 5K. It crossed my mind during my run yesterday and I stopped running and ended up doing a walking workout. I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed in myself but I’ll keep working on it. I knew physically I could finish that race but mentally I lost focus and gave up. I used to run regularly (a few years and 2 kids ago) and so I know a lot of it is mental and I think I need some time to get that mental strength back. I hope to finish all my training schedule this week.
