Meal planning is one of the most popular magazine prizes, so I have tons of them to share with you! I like a simple meal planner, but there are some journal “hacks” you can implement when planning your week. And they include some simple Post-it® notes! “Grocery Master Lists” are so smart too. Think of the master grocery list as an outline of what you want to have in your kitchen and pantry. Go through the list before you go to the store to make sure you don’t have anything too important! This household tends to creep. And running out of toilet paper is never fun.
But that’s fine, as long as you’re aware of what you’re eating, then it’s all good, right? Below, I’ve added some creative ways to track meals. Most of us are trying to cut down on eating out, so I like to code these lists to show exactly where the food comes from, here are some ways you can group:
I track my meals in a diary with little icons from my key. I use separate small daphne symbols for carrying, cooking and dining out. I track all of this on my weekly scales each day as the day ends.
I always want to try new recipes, as always. If you’ve seen my food journal, you’d know that I’m a cookbook addict and love to keep track of all the recipes I want to cook. I used to have a whole bookshelf full of food magazines – Food & Wine, Food Network, Saveur, Bon Appetit, Allrecipes.com – you name it. Since Kunmari, I’ve cleaned everything out, but I still have a pretty decent cookbook collection.

I have a soft spot for junk food too, girl. 🍔
I also love the list from SD (@bujo.coffee.wine) as a way to keep track of new restaurants and bars to try – I have such a long list right now and need to make a spread just like hers!
