I know I’ve said this before in my other doodling post, but if you’re just starting out, use what you already have or get a cheap kit with a pencil, eraser and sharpener.

I love how thick this mechanical pencil is (0.5mm), I always have it in my travel pencil case (unless my boys steal it). The grip is very comfortable and changing the lead to a soft will give you much more control and tone.

I like to have a bunch of these when I want to shoot something really fast, and the 0.7mm size is my absolute favorite. And when they come with HB leads, like any other mechanical pencil, you can add a different softness to the leads. I like to add forwards and have different colors to distinguish the leads.
