There are several ways to tackle an Easter egg hunt and both are fun for younger and older children.

Outdoor Easter Egg Hunt Clues & Ideas You Can Print At Home!

The first option is to simply hide the Easter eggs in the garden for the children to find. You can hide multicolored plastic eggs with small treats inside or even small Easter eggs.

It’s a good choice for kids who can get frustrated easily and just want to have fun. I created cute tokens that you can hide inside the eggs that the kids will love.

Another option is to use clues to guide participants around the house or garden to find the eggs.

You can print out the clues and follow them to the surprise at the end or put the clues in little plastic eggs with a treat. You will follow the clues to find the next egg until the end.

Printable Easter Basket Scavenger Hunt! Make Easter Egg Stra Special

Depending on the number of children playing, I recommend having an equal amount of eggs to find for each child.

It would be a good idea to choose an egg color for each child or if you are hiding chocolate Easter eggs you can add a colored sticker or name tag on the egg.

This makes the game fair for every child and prevents tears and tantrums if one child collects more eggs than another. Just make it clear to the children that they should only take their eggs.

Our clues can be used in any order, so it’s up to you if the kids go from room to room or if you randomize the clues so the kids have to run around and do tons of exercises!

Either way, use our free printable Easter egg hunt signs to help point kids in the right direction. There are two sizes, large and small with a written set and an empty set.

You can simply cut out the panels and glue them around the house or create panels for the garden! I think the little ones are cute stuck in a flowerpot or attached to birds.

These visual cues follow the same structure as the written cues but are great for young children or those who cannot read. Instead of a nursery rhyme or riddle, the clue simply has a picture of where the clue is hidden. Small children may need guidance in their hunt.

I love Easter. It’s not just the spirit of revival and joy that I feel. These feelings are the most important. But I also like the secular side of the holidays. Rabbits and Easter baskets and eggs. And treasure!

I remember how exciting it was to hunt Easter eggs. It’s a nice twist on the tradition of just finding eggs. Do it in addition to or instead of a traditional Easter egg hunt.

The first and last clue are at the top of PAGE 1. Place the first clue of your choice with the “intro”. Since not everyone will have everything in the clue (shed, etc.), the clues are mixed and matched. I also made a blank page if you want to create/add your own. The answers are typed below the clues.
