Easter Basket Template – Print, cut, then glue cute little Easter baskets. Fill with homemade truffles, Easter treats or cookies.
There’s nothing cuter than these little Easter baskets. They are so versatile and can be used for parties or Easter egg hunts (no candy needed with these FREE Easter Egg Printables for Kids!). You can use them as decorations on your Easter table or as postcards. At only 2.5″ each, they are perfect for small treats like homemade truffles, cookie truffles or brownies.

First, buy templates. Templates come in three colors – white, green and gray. You can print as much as you want.

There is one compost bin per leaf. Print as much as you want or need.
Cut out the baskets with solid black lines. You will also need to cut out the handle and feet. Baskets are very easy to cut with scissors. If you own a Cricut cutting machine, you can also use the Print then Cut option to cut several at once.
Fold the basket along the dotted lines. It has 6 folds: 4 glues, a bunny face and a bunny tail.
Grease the basket. Glue sticks or glue dots are great for this type of small project. They come in different sizes and you will need small dots for this project.

Dots become stripes. You remove the dots with the plastic applicator on top and place them on the paper. They are terrible for crafts, especially for children.
Use 1-2 dots for each “glue” tab. You can get away with 1 point, but 2 is better.
Fold the tabs up to the ears and tail of the bunny. Glue the back tabs to the front and back of the bunny. Do this on both sides.
Place 1 point at the end of each handle. Glue it to each side of the inside of the Easter Bunny basket.

Finally, place 1 point on the top of each foot. Place your feet on the bottom of the basket. It would be fun to change the colors of the feet in each basket. To get in the mood, I got creative and came up with this free printable Easter Bunny pattern.
What’s cuter than a rabbit? Seriously, you don’t want to just watch a viral video and clink glasses while you sleep. It smells good. And if you want cute, poop-free bunnies and have to remember to feed them, make an army out of these bunny boxes. Just look at their cute faces.
And to make them even more adorable, I added little pom pom feet and cotton tails. Buns should be fluffy. Now instead of looking at my error box on my desk, I have a cute little bunny smiling at me and holding something sweet.
Just print out this PDF basket template and cut along the solid lines. Then fold and crease all the dotted lines.

Glue the tabs (I used a regular school stick). I started by gluing the tabs around the front and then finished the back, attaching the back tab at the same time as the bottom tab.
To add the handle, add glue to the inside of the box just before the side bend. Then do the same on the other side and attach the handle.
Finish them off by gluing small white pom poms to the lower front and cotton wool to the lower back. I used my hot glue gun for this.
Now fill them with some Easter grass and add your favorite ingredients. I’m a big fan of Cadbury Mini Eggs so I filled them with the others. I’ll probably eat all the Cadbury Mini Eggs and fill them with jelly beans or scrambled eggs for the kids haha!

These instructions make paper Easter baskets that are approximately 5-1/2″ x 3-1/4″. You can use my tutorial for making large baskets, just glue a few pages together first and follow the general instructions. Need a small basket? First, select the stock colors of the Astrobrights card. Be sure to check out my color palettes for color combination ideas. Go download my free printable Easter basket template (PDF) and print the template on colored card stock. Cut 1″ off each short side. Leave the cut strip on the side to use for the basket handle later.
Spring Easter Printable Basket Template
Score the two dotted lines on the template by running the back of the knife along the ruler – just score it lightly instead of cutting the paper. If you are not using my printable template then measure 7cm from the long edge of the paper and mark that line.
Now on the left side, cut three strips 1” wide each, making sure they stop at your cut line, so you have three cut rectangles at the top and three at the bottom. My printable Easter basket template will show you exactly where to cut these strips.
Repeat on the right side of the basket template. You will have slits in the basket as in the picture below.
See the squares between the top and bottom? You will turn them into triangles. Cut in the middle like this, or follow the lines on my free printable template.

Now let’s decorate your Easter basket! Cut 1” strips of the other three colors and cut them to 7cm lengths.
Glue the colors to the outside of your pink strips, adding them evenly from the sides. Let them dry.
Fold the cut lines and roll the strips into the middle of the triangle. The easiest way to do this is to first arrange the background bars like this…
Then fiddle with the other colors until the triangles line up. Pin together and repeat on the other side of the paper Easter basket.
