GoodRead More I know I’ve mentioned this a time or two before, but this year I decided to change up my Christmas decor. We bought a new tree, which inspired me to go in a different direction. Instead of decorating in my usual blue tones, I decided to go with a neutral color scheme. I’m so happy everything is coming together and look forward to sharing more with you soon!
Toilet Paper Snowmen
Since I changed things up a bit, I needed some more Christmas decorations. I bought some new jewelry at Hobby Lobby, but didn’t want to spend too much, so I decided to make some jewelry as well. I tried to be as frugal as possible, so I started recycling some old toilet paper rolls. Here is what I came up with….
These DIY Christmas ornaments were so much fun to make and only took me 5 minutes to put together! How I did it!
Step 1: Gather your supplies: toilet paper rolls, cute buttons (or any other embellishments), hot glue gun, glue sticks, fishing line, and scissors (not shown.)
Step 4: Attach the button to the center of the ornament again using hot glue. Add fishing line to the hanging ornament. If you don’t have fishing line, you can also use twine, ribbon, etc.

Since I’m sticking to a neutral color scheme, I went with the natural color of the toilet paper roll, but if you want, you can add a little more to them by painting them with paint or adding some glitter.
I personally like the simplicity of the natural color with a little button sparkle. I found these adorable buttons at Hobby Lobby if you’re interested. 😉
I bet you’ll never see your toilet paper roll again! Who knew it would turn out so cute?! Better think twice before you throw that next empty roll in the trash! 🙂

Easy Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Crafts For Kids
In our first year of marriage, we moved into our “forever” house and I was so excited to decorate our first tree that December. However, after a quick visit to the shop, I realized that the beautiful glass ornaments I was looking at were very expensive! Cheap plastics are also out of my budget. I’m not ready to spend over $300 on decorations, but I also want an impressive tree. The struggle is real. I finally found a solution and spent a couple of hours one night creating these beautiful handmade Christmas tree ornaments out of toilet paper rolls and toothpicks.
I made two types of handmade Christmas tree ornaments. Snowflake decorations are made from toilet paper rolls and pop balls are made from toothpicks! Check out the two tutorials below—I’ve made a video for each—plus some extra tips for making your own treetop. (Note: This post contains affiliate links)
