The Blue and Gold Cub Scout Banquet is a highlight event for Cub Scouts and we want to make it as special as possible for them!

I love my Cub Scout. However, I will allow myself to take over the scouting duties! Somehow, though, I volunteered to plan my Cub Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet…. (I always manage to get into these things somehow).

Of The Most Incredible Blue And Gold Banquet Themes

Finally successful!! I was thrilled with how it turned out and wanted to know what we did if you feel like volunteering for that kind of craziness.

1) We alternated the tablecloths – blue / “gold” – and also changed the colors of the plates. Instant color and contrast are eye-catching.

2) The theme of our blue and gold dinner was “camping with the scouts”, so we asked the scouts to “fire” with rocks, tissue paper and tea lights – they stuck to old CDs.

Luckily, at our venue, the back wall was blue, so we attached a series of blue and gold balloons in a rectangular pattern.

How To Plan A Blue And Gold Banquet

One was a lumberjack party kit and we used props except for the birthday sign. It has a compass, lantern, trees and other camping gear that comes with a Boy Scout themed camper.

We put out a call to action and parents and families brought it. I filled them with blue and gold filler paper that I got at the Dollar Tree.

Then I printed Cub Scout signs and attached them to wooden skewers and placed them in the jars.

Have you ever planned a Cub Scout meeting or a Blue and Gold banquet? Let me hear about it! Do you have any questions about what we did? I would love to help you have a successful dinner! I look forward to another successful Blue and Gold Banquet in 2019!

I have been away for the past 10 days and as soon as I get back to town I need to start 10 centerpieces for my son’s Cub Scouts blue and gold banquet centerpiece. This is what I came up with.

I am a craft hoarder and have been hoarding coffee cans for the past year. I finally found a use for them and decided to recycle the cans into centerpieces by covering them with paper.

The Cub Scout badge is a fleur-de-lis and I actually didn’t think I had a fleur-de-lis cutout, but I looked in my Gypsy and it turns out I have 6 to choose from! I love all the hidden secrets in the Cricut cartridge! I chose to use a fleur-de-lis die cut from Sweethearts at 3.75 inches along the shade base. If you don’t have a die machine, a metal fleur-de-lys die by hand-cut die machine also works well.

Well, if you want to reclaim coffee cans, I’ll give you a little tip. The coffee cans are 12 1/2″ in diameter and my paper strips are 12″, so I had to find a solution for the missing 1/2″. I glued an extra strip of fleur de lis embossed cardstock to cover the gap in my paper. It gave the cans a bit more of an ‘outdoorsman’ look. To give it, I tied jute twine around them.

The Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge has a fleur-de-lis cutout, but since I needed 20 and didn’t have time for fine detail, I made these rosettes by hand. They are 3 inches and 4 inches wide.

For the rosette centerpieces, I embossed some circles with the fleur-de-lis symbol and printed some Cub Scout clip art. The boys loved the rosettes and started pretending the dowels were knives, just like the boys. If I get enough for all the boys to take home, maybe I will for next year.

Here’s how the centerpieces on the banquet table tied in with the balloons inside.
