In some charts, lines become an important part of them. Charts without lines will need some adjustments to change the functionality of the lines. Lines on charts are useful as barriers or dividers for certain data presented using charts. The number of lines in a chart also varies depending on the needs of the chart. If the data being presented doesn’t need many rows, that’s fine. Because the function of the chart itself is to make it easier for users to present data. If a line chart can help complete a good data presentation, you can continue to use it to streamline your operations.

SmartArt graphics are pre-made collections of basic and solid template shapes. If you need to create quick and easy graphics, SmartArt is a good choice. Although using SmartArt to create charts and diagrams is fast, it lacks flexibility. Clip art limits you to one or two pre-selected shapes.
Navigate to Insert > Graphics > SmartArt. A pop-up window will open. In the SmartArt window, select “Process” to view various flowchart options. Select the image you want and click “OK” to place it in the document.
To add a shape, select the entire SmartArt graphic and click “Add Shape.” (This button is located in the upper left corner of the toolbar.) Click and drag the shapes to move them within the image. If you do this, the arrows will adjust automatically.
If you want to change the shape in the image, right-click the shape you want to change. In the panel that appears, hover your mouse over “Change shape” and select a new shape.

When you select your Smart Art diagram, two tabs appear at the top right of the toolbar: “Smart Art Design” and “Format.” The SmartArt Design tab lets you change the type of drawing, choose from several preset color schemes, and add shapes. For more customization, use the Format tab to change individual shape colors, text colors, and fonts.

Go to Insert > Image > Shapes. When you click on “Size” a drop-down menu will appear. Find the shape labeled “Flowchart”. This is where you will find all the elements you need to create a flowchart, such as process boxes and decision boxes. Hovering over a shape will show you each shape function.
Next, click and drag your mouse to create shapes in your document. Repeat these steps to add more shapes.
