Bandana Sewing Pattern
Cut 2 pieces of bandana (choose the size according to the size chart on page 2 of the pattern pieces). Transfer the stud placement marks to the RIGHT SIDE of the fabric.
How To Make Bandana Bibs For Babies
Place a piece of bandana right side up. Place the second piece of the bandana right side up. Sew together using a 1/4″ seam allowance, leaving 3-4″ open in the top center of the bandana to turn right sides out.
Turn the bandana out on its right sides by pulling through the top center opening. Use a stick or rotary tool to get sharp points in the corners.
Press the bandana, making sure to press the opening left open to rotate the seam allowance. Sew around the entire bandana.
Place the snaps at the snap placement marks using the instructions that came with your snaps. Tip: For the most stylish look, apply snaps going in opposite directions (one with the pretty side at the front and the other with the pretty side at the back)!

Strange as it may sound, KAMsnaps® was born from our volunteer work with homeless dogs, especially dogs with special needs. This easy, beginner-friendly dog bandana tutorial uses less fabric than my original bandana pattern, but you’ll need a special tool called an applicator.
I don’t know about you, but I love gadgets. I used Kam brand Snap applicator for my fabric bandana project. Once you do that, you start looking for things to add to the snaps, it’s a bit addictive.

How to Get the Right Size for Your Bandana: Use a tape measure or string to loosely measure your dog’s neck.
Fold and press the seams twice to cover the raw edge. At the corners that exceed the shape of the apron, you need to cut the fabric.

Now comes the fun part, add your Cam photos. Use the tool that came with your kit to drill a hole where you want to make the studs.
Pass the snap fastener through the hole you made in the fabric, with the male or female part down.

How To Make An Over The Collar Dog Bandana
While I’ve done many things as shown above, cutting an angled notch at the top of the bandana prevents the fabric from tangling around your pup’s neck and uses less fabric.
All you have to do is fold the triangle you cut in half vertically to find the center and finger pressure.
Now draw a straight line from this mark to the outer points of the triangle as shown below.

Easier to change than a soaked coverall and more stylish than a traditional nursing bib, the bandana bib is a new way to keep laundry at bay. This beginner-level tutorial will show you how to make a bandana bib for the cute drool in your life.
Materials: two pieces of fabric (minimum 22″ x 8″), pins, snaps (velcro or buttons would also work), thread, sewing machine, bandana apron pattern

Start by printing our free bandana gown pattern on letter-size paper and cut out. (This pattern will fit most kids 3 months to 2 years old.)
If not, the bib lacks the drool-catching function, making it cute but worthless. I recommend choosing terry, muslin, flannel or jersey cotton fabrics, all of which are absorbent and easily washable. For this project, I chose to use an old baby towel and children’s T-shirt instead of buying new fabric, otherwise they would both go to the thrift store.
Whether your fabric is new or you choose to upcycle like me, start by folding a fabric so the entire pattern fits in the folded portion. Align the pattern edge labeled FOLD along the folded edge of the fabric. Cut out the pattern.
If you did it right, open the lid and you’ll have an apron that looks like this.

Repeat with your second fabric. Or if the second fabric, like my t-shirt, is difficult to fold, put your first apron on top and cut around it.
. Starting at one of the bottom edges, use a 1/4″ seam allowance to sew almost completely around the apron. Stop about 1.5″ from where you started and leave an opening for turning.
Turn the apron to the right side. To turn it over, tuck the edges of the blank you left in and use a hot iron to hem the seams. You will now use a 1/8″ seam allowance to sew the main part of the apron.
But I prefer to leave the top edge a little softer because it will touch the baby’s face.

The final step is to add some sort of fastener to the ends. I chose to use KAMsnaps but Velcro or a real button and buttonhole are also great options. If you choose Velcro, be sure to sew the loop side from the inside so the hook side doesn’t injure your child’s neck!
Congratulations! You sewed your first bandana apron! Once you realize how easy it is, I doubt it will be the end of you.
Perfect for little boys or girls, I love that these aprons are a style statement as well as useful. They’re like a baby version of a cozy fall scarf – and who doesn’t love that!
As with all baby clothing, wear bandana bibs with care – use only on a child under direct supervision and never leave on a sleeping baby.
