Certified mail was a certificate from the postal service for first-class mail, where the sender could receive confirmation of receipt of the mail at the time of sending. The original certified mail form (POD Form 3800, April 1955) consisted of a numbered “Certified Postal Receipt” with a rubber stick attached with the same number as the receipt.

If you want to glue this receipt, put a rubber stamp on the address side and leave the attached receipt and present the letter to the postal clerk. 3. Posti issued a certified 15-cent stamp on June 6, 1955. George B. Sloan wrote the following in his Stamps column on July 2, 1955:

Its purpose was only to promote public participation in the new service. … the use of the stamp is optional and many authenticated letters now in the post are franked with regular postage for a special fee. Canada Post introduced its version of certified mail in 1973, which differed from the US service in that it was a delivery confirmation service. US Certified Mail was a proof of delivery service with an option to pay an additional fee for a return receipt.

There were two types of kits available. A “letterbox” contained an envelope for correspondence, while a “multipurpose box” consisted of a label that could be affixed to oversized packages. When it was introduced, the fee for certified mail was 40 cents.

After receiving certified mail, the recipient signed a receipt, a copy of which was kept in Posti’s archives for 18 months. The card has been sent to the sender with a delivery certificate.

The 1973 forms had a value of 40 cents. Models after 1973 did not show value. The prices of certified mail have increased over time.

The certified stamp below was probably attached to a package sent in 1980. My guess is that the attached form had no value.

That’s all. You have prepared certified mail from .com without manually filling out forms or going to the post office. Simply hand the certified envelope or package to your postal operator or drop it in any mailbox.

A .com domain allows you to prepare postage for certified mail without .com certified mail labels or envelopes, but you must manually complete USPS Form 3800. If you want a physical return receipt, you must also complete USPS Form 3811. These forms must be included with the mail.

8. Print the postage for the mail shipment using normal .com procedures. If a certificate of return or electronic return receipt is not required, simply attach the USPS Form 3800 to your email and the USPS Form 3811 if a physical return is requested, and deliver it to the mail carrier or USPS mailbox.
