Today I have a super cute and super easy paper project to share with you, DIY Origami Ties. It’s been five years since I made my first origami bows and I still love beautiful paper bows. No gift is complete without it!

These simple bows are easier to make than my previous ones. No cutting to begin with and more non-folding. The hardest part is opening them at the end, so if you’re making them with younger kids, they may need a little help with the last steps.
The best thing about them is how good they are. You can use them as decoration on cards and gifts for both men and women. How about making origami shirt bags for Father’s Day and adding a matching origami bow tie?
Turn them into hair clips or brooches. Tie them to a ribbon and use them as a fancy paper tie or headband. Tie them together as a garland for inexpensive party decor, or place minis on cocktail sticks to dress up cupcakes. There are so many clever ways to use them.

But keep your eyes closed when you’re outside. You can often find Djeco in independent shops and I’ve even picked up a few in garden centres, so it’s always a good idea to keep an eye out.
Use wrapping paper or old magazines and personalize them to match your wrapping or party theme. Old coloring books are another good alternative.
I really got into the coloring craze a few years ago and I even have some free printable coloring pages and blog bookmarks if you’re interested. Origami is a great way to find another use for them.

8. Take the left side and fold it diagonally. You want to line up the center fold with the fold you see on the right front side (shown above).

Fold two regions of the triangle, one on each side, in half along its center line to create a pentagon with George Washington’s face in the top corner.
Turn the dollar bill over and repeat the previous step on the other side to make a rectangle.
Fold the inner corners to the center of the opposite side so that they meet in the center of the small rectangle.
Fold the longer side of the triangle over the pointed side as much as possible without tearing the paper.

Pull the two side flaps and press down on the pointed part in the center until George Washington’s face appears in the center of the square.
