Disney World Planning Spreadsheet – If you’ve read even one Disney planning book (or been on the site for a while), you know that the bread and butter of a Disney vacation plan is the itinerary.
The trip plan will be your starting point – it defines your plan for the rest of the trip. See all the attractions and experiences you’ll want to visit, dining plans and reservations, and FastPass+ reservation times. These are families without travel plans who pass through the main gates of the magical kingdom, grab a map and immediately find themselves overwhelmed.
Disney World Planning Spreadsheet
Without an itinerary, everything you want to do on a trip to Walt Disney World doesn’t exist.

How To Plan A Trip
I like to start with my party “to do” list. I use the Walt Disney World Top 10 Printable to see their wish list at a glance.
Then I consult travel planning experts like Easy WDW’s Cheat Sheets, TouringPlans.com, and Undercover Tourist’s Touring Plans. These travel plans will give you a general idea of how much you can fit into a day and how long each trip should take. These are great templates that will help you avoid long lines and bottlenecks in the park.
Expert travel plans are a great place to start, but sometimes there are rides and shows we’d rather skip. I edit these plans using my Walt Disney World Trip Planner Spreadsheet to create a plan that will be perfect for our family.

I came across a publicly shared Google doc [no longer available] Gredel S. that was an excellent foundation and starting point for filling out a design chart. It includes a daily itinerary of parks to visit and where and when to eat (enter those pass numbers!) with attractions to see (in summary), I’ve modified them to include “must see”, park hours, and suggested “best of”. (least crowded) parks to visit each day. That’s the beauty of this chart: You can add, delete, and edit as much or as little as you want to suit your preferences. (Click the chart below for a larger version.)
Our Favorite Tool For Planning A Disney Vacation
Everything on the ONE sheet makes it easy to fold up and keep in your pocket or purse, and you can print extras to give to other friends on your travels.
Creating a planning diagram forces you to look at the park maps and learn about the layout of each park. It ends up being very good because you’ll know where to go and won’t be looking at a map feeling lost (which is a huge waste of time). “Where should we eat?!” This will also solve the problem.
Plan ahead as much as you can, but don’t try to plan every minute of the day. give me some space There may be a waiting time for an attraction that is too long; Skip it and come back if time permits. Also spend time looking at the details; See “Street Entertainment”, look for Hidden Mickey, talk to cast members… Don’t rush the trip ~ miss something!
Did we stick to our plans? No! If we saw a restaurant we wanted to try more than what was planned, we left the plans and went spontaneously! We also chose different parks to visit on our last day than originally planned. These are just plans after all, it’s okay to make changes along the way.
Disney Trip Planner Sheets
Bottom line: know in advance which parks you want to visit, which attractions are a “must” for the day, and where you want to eat. Let the rest of your day “happen”… see the characters, enjoy the other attractions/shows and pay attention to the details.
Please do not access the Disney version of this planning diagram through Google Docs. When using Google Docs, go to File > Make a Copy, give it a new name, and you can edit it to your heart’s content. If you want a clean start, here’s a copy of the blank slate. (Again, open it in Google Docs, go to File > Make a Copy and edit it as you wish. Please don’t ask them to share it with you – if you give others editing rights, they would edit the original – that’s “making a copy”. It won’t affect on others how to get access to it).
Update: The Disney Trip Planning Charts were updated on December 4, 2012 with improvements. It can now also be downloaded as a Word document.
