Pumpkin Carving Stencils Owl

Pumpkin Carving Stencils Owl – Making a uniquely designed pumpkin lantern or pumpkin mask adds a wonderful touch to your Halloween day. Around the area you may have seen some houses decorated with black, orange decorations on human-sized vampire mannequins. Along with pumpkin carving patterns that have never lost their popularity, some of the best vintage patterns can still be found on store shelves and in home decor. Classic designs include jack-o-lantern smiles, spiders, bats, and cat motifs. These patterns are super easy to make and popular to display when Halloween rolls around. Today, this pattern has changed following the patterns of pop culture, carrying the Halloween tradition itself through the generations.

Fall is the best time to plant pumpkin and use it for any kind of dish. You should not forget, this is also a Halloween event not to be missed. This pumpkin carving has become a tradition as the story is passed down through the generations. It comes from a legend where Stingy Jack is promised by Satan and when he dies and is not allowed to enter heaven, he is condemned to wander the earth forever. Then people started carving their own pumpkins to chase away the ghost of Carving Jack. Some stories also say that a wandering spirit will return to visit the home and family during Halloween and stay inside the pumpkin.

To make a good pumpkin painting, first you need to decide on the right pumpkin. It would be better to choose a pumpkin that has a stem and is the largest. That’s why you need to remove the grapes and you need a wide area to work on your pumpkin painting patterns later. Do not bring home pumpkins with bruises or spots on already damaged pumpkins. If not, your pumpkin can scare you before its time. Then choose the right painting patterns to create! Since you already have flat bottles and pumpkins with rounded sides, any type of pattern allows you to create any pattern you want and need. This pattern allows you to decide where on the pumpkin you want the light to come from. The regular one always comes off the top so you can put a stick on top of it to make sure it stays on. If you want your pumpkin to last longer, make sure you clean the inside of the pumpkin, so it will be better for your pumpkin.

The owl is also my favorite bird, and next to pets, my favorite animal. You could say I have a ‘thing’ for owls. I have designed and created owl pumpkin stencils over the years on Woo! Junior, and came up with something new for 2017! So here are all our owl pumpkin painting patterns in one place.

This month watching owls was originally posted on one of my blogs. It’s based on some 1920s paper Halloween decorations!

A popular set of pumpkin mandala stencils based on art from my adult coloring books. Two of them were owls, and I threw in some cool feather stencil art just for fun!

And lastly, this is one of the first pumpkin stencils I posted on the site in 2009. It’s probably old! 🙂

Founder and CEO of Woo! Jr. Activities for Kids Wendy loves making crafts, activities and prints that help teachers teach and give parents creative ways to spend time with children. What’s Halloween without carved pumpkins on the porch? For a new twist on pumpkin carving and an added challenge for veterans, try the cool technique.

I’ve been wanting to try it for a while and I have to say, even though it was very difficult to make a traditional carved jack-o-lantern, it was a blast!

Of course, the first step is to choose a whole pumpkin from the farm or store. I can’t help but choose one that is big and round and has a big trunk. Next year I have my eye on the great variety of salts available.

Since we were making a woodland owl Halloween costume I chose to carve a woodland owl pattern. Check out the download if you want to try this pattern again! There is also a simple owl pattern if you like something simple and quick. And if you want to be more creative, make the adults one of them!

Make the pattern bigger or smaller to fit the size of the pumpkin. Print the attached woodland owl pattern on standard 8×11” paper size.

Tip: Tap the pattern on the side of the pumpkin ready to be carved. Because the flat pattern is made on a circular surface, other cuts (such as darts) must be made to fit. Try to tap the points where it slightly touches the pattern.

Transfer the patterns 1/8 inch apart using the pattern lines to the laps through the small holes. To make the small holes I used a small sharp tool from one of the pumpkin carving kits you can buy at the store, but a push pin would work just as well. If you or your grandchild likes to draw, it is even easier to draw a pattern directly on the thigh, just say.

Tip: The closer the holes are to each other, the easier it will be to see the pattern when you peel the paper from the lap.

Remove the paper from the thigh and dry with a paper towel. Using a dry erase marker, connect the dotted lines left by your markers in the pattern (this rub–my extra ink pen had no marks). You may want to draw on the areas shown in the black pattern so you know what to touch during the next step.

Begin to peel the pumpkin skin from the dark areas in the pattern.

Tip: I tried several tools to cut the design out of the pumpkin skin. The tool to match the end of the clay wire worked very well. You can buy these at a craft store (I like Hobby Lobby) or online.

Work with small movements as you feel how hard it is to push and pull the modeling tool on the end of the string. Pumpkin skin is tough, so you and your handler will have to be patient, but you’ll get it right! You can try a few strokes down the thigh before starting the desired design.

Tip: Do not overcook the pumpkin. The point is to have a different color, not to dig a pumpkin and have open holes like a regular jack-o-lantern. You can close more later, if you like.

Enjoy the process and the chase! My lines weren’t straight and I messed up in a few places, but it made for a great look in the end! Don’t worry if it’s not perfect.

I chose not to remove the inside of this pumpkin. It sits on my desk at school and I hope it lasts this long.

If you want to attach the pumpkin, open the inside of the pumpkin while you work on carving the pattern. Doing it this way will keep the pumpkin firm to the touch. There are several ways to do this:

This technique uses open holes like a regular jack-o’-lantern to shine instead of a bright light. Drag lightly to areas where you want more light.

Tip: Spray the inside and outside of the pumpkin with a cleaning spray with bleach in it. This will kill the bacteria and preserve the pumpkin further. Repeating this daily or every other day will help even more. Another option is to soak the pumpkin for several hours in bleached water at a rate of 1 teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water. Why didn’t he tell me this news before? (You may want to do this yourself as bleach can be dangerous. Teach older adults how to use it and keep it away from your precious grandchildren.)
