511 All Missions Plate Carrier – 5.11 Tactic caused a big stir this year with the introduction of the new Hex Grid system they use for packs, bags, and plate carriers. Needless to say, I liked the idea of placing the furniture at different angles. When I saw all the Mission plate carriers, I knew I had to have them. I have it! After spending some time with all the missions on my plate, I realized I couldn’t capture everything I wanted in one article, so this is the first of two. In this article, we will explain what the All Missions Plate Carrier is and what its capabilities are. Part two will discuss it in action and tell you more about how it works when worn.
Six Corners has become the official tactical uniform of 2019. I know, but it seems to work. With all mission plates you get a healthy 12×9 platform on both sides of the plate, as well as a caberbund with Hexgrib. Hexgrid replaces traditional MOLLE or PALS webbing in this boot due to the modularity of the hexagonal webbing.

Hexgrid allows you to mount traditional MOLLE equipment. Or you can run it at an angle or even horizontally. This allows for quick and easy adjustment and adjustment of the bags to a specific shape. To be honest, it made me experiment many times with my setup. I now run my 3×6 med kit horizontally and it is easier to reach with both hands, even when running on my non-dominant side.
I can also fit more furniture by working in the corners. For example, if I run a 5-gun bandolier at a slight angle from the rifle, I can fit another VTAC rifle pouch and double magazine pouch in a 12×9 hexgrid. It doesn’t even fill up the gear. Everything is very easy to access and use.
In the past, adapters had orientation hardware, different orientations, but such a modular option has never been tried as far as I know. The tray of all Hexgrid missions makes everything a breeze.
While attaching and swapping gear with HexGrid is easy, who likes to constantly destroy their gear to change gear? It’s weaving, weaving, weaving and more. Thanks to the All Missions plate carrier, you can change loads very easily, without having to constantly alternate.

Front and rear 12×9 HexGrids are removable, 5.11 sells additional 12×9 HexGrids. You can install multiple Hexgrids with different payloads and replace them on the plate carrier. They are very easy to change and attach in seconds. I installed two downloads between AMP. The first is a very nice standard rifle with new Flex AR magazine and pistol pouches. I also have internal Kangaroo pouches for additional AR magazines. It’s lightweight and perfect for most AR downloads. This is my current AR gear for use with my AR 80 pistol with a lower receiver.
The second equipment is a whole set of weapons. Includes two bandoliers for Vtac/5.11 pistols, as well as a VTAC rifle pouch and a Flex dual pistol pouch. The set 3 × 9 is a constant between two sets.
This plate carrier has two Kangaroo pouches. The first is under the HexGrid panel and the second is in the HexGrid panel. The inner kangaroo pocket has small bungee cords and magazine-sized pockets that can be removed and swapped between the two kangaroo pockets.
These two different weapon systems use many different pouches and attachments to operate. Instead of spending 15 or 20 minutes to unload one, I swap hexgrid panels in 15 to 20 seconds.

Of course, the ability to quickly switch from rifle to rifle and machine gun is invaluable. This makes the AMP versatile in a variety of missions. But there’s more to it.
The carrier can be easily folded or disassembled. The end user can remove the inner panels, hexgrid panel, camberbund and other components to achieve a very low profile carrier plate. You can hide the item behind the jacket.

You can add it all up and build a complex fixture for tons of gear and photo storage. This is good for short term missions. Kangaroo pouch that holds three AR magazines and three elastic pockets on either side of the camberbund for more magazines, radio, extra tourniquets, whatever you want. Another camberbund with a broken Hexgrid will allow you to add even more gear. You can even reverse the internal camberbund to place the cotton bag on the opposite side of the plate carrier. It makes it easier to reach him. So one side can rock the radio and the other side the magazine.
