One of the common 3D shapes that comes up in the lesson is a cube. Sometimes, to keep us interested in the lesson, we are asked to create a cube on our own. Therefore, several materials are required. One of them is downloading 3D shapes for cutting. We can simply call it a network. A grid refers to a flat surface that has specific lines and notches as a guide for building a 3D shape. The 3D shape can be built if we bend the mesh accordingly at the boundaries. So, as an introduction, the material that will be used is usually foldable, like paper or some kind of thick plastic. Networks always come in 2D form. To make it voluminous, it should be bent and glued to it.

2. Prepare the following materials: A piece of thick paper or cardboard, scissors and glue. If we just want to copy the template, prepare a ruler, pencil, eraser and marker (optional).

We have two options here. We can 3D print shapes to cut out the pattern on a piece of paper or reshape the pattern itself.

3. Glue a specific side using the glue. Make sure we apply the glue on the side that needs to be hidden. This helps keep the grid so that the volume is defined.

2. Start drawing the pattern on a piece of paper. Use a ruler so that the line is measured accurately and straight. Use a pencil to make it easier to remove mistakes.

3. After the border is drawn, try to thicken the line using the marker. It helps to better define networks.

4. Once the mesh is finished, then, we can do the same steps as when we decide to print 3D shapes to cut out the pattern. We can cut off the excess, fold it and stick and glue it.
