Each American state has its own unique attraction and individual character. Experience the Alaskan wilderness, sample California’s fine wines, and tick off New York State landmarks. Whether you want to embrace the beauty of its national parks and desert landscapes, enjoy the thrills and thrills of a world-class amusement park, or just relax on sunny beaches, there’s a U.S. state with your name on it.
When touring America, Washington – the only state named after a president – is a good place to start. It has been dubbed the evergreen state due to the abundance of rich green forests, especially those in Seattle, the Emerald City. Interestingly, it produces more apples than any other U.S. state and is home to the oldest human remains in North America.
Bisected by the Cascade Mountains, Washington state has idyllic parks, volcanoes and islands on one side and coastal forests, farmlands and hundreds of wineries on the other. The North Cascades are an undiscovered beauty with their steep mountains and clear freshwater lakes, perfect for the outdoor traveler.

For those who prefer a vacation away from the mainland, the San Juan Islands are a series of forested islands that offer kayaking, orca, and bird watching.
Tucked away in the rugged mountains of the Western United States, Wyoming is wild and beautiful. Despite its size, it is one of the most sparsely populated states in America. Here you’ll replace the attractions and crowds of the city with national parks, cowboy ranches, hot springs, and endless wilderness.
But the story is found here too; Wyoming was the first state to enfranchise women in 1869. For outdoor travelers, Yellowstone National Park is a big draw with its stunning geothermal activity and wildlife-rich plains dotted with wolves , moose and grizzlies. There are more geysers than any other geyser field in the world!
With Grand Teton National Park and Hot Springs State Park, Wyoming is perfect for all kinds of outdoor adventures, from hiking, swimming and kayaking to mountain biking and skiing.

The second largest state in the US, Texas, is really excellent. Located in the south-central region, it’s loved for its warm temperatures, country music, famous Texas barbecue, and birding—it’s home to more bird species than any other state in the United States.
Known as the Lone Star State (so named for its flag and former independence as a republic), Texas still feels different from the rest of the United States. Though despite its massive size comprising 28 cities, the proud people of Texas share the same values, patriotism and special culture.
Don’t leave without strolling the San Antonio Riverwalk with its art galleries, museums, restaurants and endless opportunities for shopping therapy. For some history, visit the historic Alamo Fort, which played a key role in the Texas War of Independence against Mexico in 1835.
Known as the Centennial State, Colorado is the highest state in the United States. One of the mountainous states, it features beautiful peaks, thick forests, deep canyons, and beautiful meandering rivers. While most of the attractions are nature-based, Denver’s bustling capital city, Mile High City, is also worth a visit with its craft breweries and epic nightlife.
East Coast Of The United States
Colorado has many claims to fame. It is home to the world’s largest hot spring pool, the deepest hot spring on Earth, the highest paved road in the United States, and the world’s largest flat-topped mountain.
But one of the main reasons tourists flock to Colorado is for year-round skiing. Home to several excellent ski resorts such as Aspen and Vail, the state’s frequent mountain snowstorms ensure plenty of powder for skiing and snowboarding. While you can get great skiing deals year round, the best skiing in Colorado is between February and March.
Alaska, America’s largest state, is a beautiful place, home to thousands of rivers and streams, hundreds of thousands of beautiful glaciers, and millions of sparkling lakes. In fact, these magical glaciers cover about 5% of the entire state!
Known as “The Final Frontier” due to its distance from the rest of the United States, Alaska is an isolated place. The vast majority are found in the Arctic. A short visit to Alaska probably won’t scratch the surface, but you can get a feel for the state with expeditions where you’ll see Alaskan wildlife like wolves, elk, whales, and Kodiak bears.

Many people don’t know this, but the best thing about Alaska is that you can see the Northern Lights here more than 240 days a year, likely due to low light levels — in some parts of the state, the sun doesn’t rise for almost two months! But when the sun rises, it really rises: often it doesn’t set for three months. This time of year is ideal for wildlife viewing.
The state of Arizona is an enchanting wonderland of spectacular red rock canyons and desert plateaus. But while it’s best known for the iconic landscapes of the Grand Canyon, sprawling through the spectacular Petrified Forest and the vividly colorful Painted Desert, Arizona is so much more than that.
You’ll also find more mountains in the Grand Canyon State than in Switzerland, and a quarter of the state is covered by the largest continuous Ponderosa pine forests in America. Add to that the forested slopes of the Mogollon Rim and the dramatic desert expanses of Monument Valley and the Sonoran Desert, and you truly have a mix of everything.
But landscapes aside, Arizona also has some cute little towns worth visiting, including the capital, Phoenix, known for its world-class spas and championship golf courses.
