Hello everyone, this is Stacey. This week I’m bringing you a creation using a pretty raspberry pink card. Paper shoes have to be one of my coolest creations to date. Watch the video embedded at the end of this post to make a pair of shoes. The raspberry card has to be one of my favorites. It’s so lively and girly. They are so cute and make great gifts for babies and Christians. I use one card to make a pair. Every little shoe can be worn. i chose to add a small flower to each one.

This pattern was found on the Splitcoast Stampers forum. if you google “paper baby shoe templates” yopu will find tons of free templates you can use and free SVG files if you use a cutter.

Baby Shoe Cut File Tutorial

I found the card easy to bend/shape. I used a standard shoe shape which I then customized with the frame and accessories. At the top of the shoe area is a strip that goes all the way around that I glue the gun to the shoe. I placed the shoes in a clear gift box with a personalized message card with the baby’s name cut out at the top, this was created using plain white card stock.

This tutorial is from blogger Trinh Pham. although the link to the template he used doesn’t work, the construction principle is the same.

Cut Out Paper Shoe Template

I was really excited when I first made these shoes. It was for my friend’s grandson who was just born. It was a few years ago, but I still remember how proud I was when I made them.

These stock baby shoes are not difficult to make, but you need a little patience. If you are only using fondant, I recommend making them at least a week in advance as they need to set. You want these stock shoes to be rock solid (or as hard as possible). You don’t want to end up with shoes that lose their shape when the paper kitchen towel (which holds the shoes on the inside) is removed.

Note: Most people use Tylo powder. Tylo powder is added to the fondant and this will make the fondant set faster. You can also use it to speed up the drying process. I’ve never used it so I don’t know how fast it sets the fondant.

Substitutions: And because I don’t want you to be left out or disappointed, I’ve compiled a list of tools that can be replaced with other alternatives (cheaper or easily available in your home).

Paint Brush Use your fingers or dip a paper towel in water (don’t get it wet).

Flower Cutter Use any cutter you like. Just make sure they aren’t too big for the shoes.
