How To Make Easy Mickey Mouse Ears
It’s downright frustrating to start a project and then find you’re missing something mid-craft. Here are the things you will need for this project:
Ok, time to get started! The pattern we used for this craft can be found here. If you don’t have access to a printer, you can easily create your own template too. Simply draw or trace the outline of a round container in two corners of the template paper, then connect the lower corners with an arc as shown below.
This is to create a pocket for your pipe cleaner to pass through, which is important for stabilizing your ears on the headband.
Both my four and six year old needed three pipe cleaners twisted together to make sure the holder was high enough. Simply overlap the two ends of the brush by a few inches and twist them together to form a long rod.

#5 – Thread the band of the pipe cleaner into the front hole of the mouse’s ear, in the center, and glue it in place.
This ensures that the ears stay attached to the band of the brush and do not roll back over the head.
Now fold the flap down and use a few staples or other types of temporary clips to hold the pipe cleaner in place until the glue dries.
While the glue is drying, you can always start decorating the other side of the mouse’s ears. A few staples on the bottom can also be used as an alternative to hold the brush in place, provided you don’t mind the silver line of staples on the bottom. We’ve done this before when the kids didn’t want to wait ten minutes for the glue to dry and were still happy with the end result.

This is the part that my kids love because they can customize the ears however they like. Our favorite decoration is stickers, but glitter glue, crayons and other items are also fine.
Once you’ve bent the pipe cleaners to size, you can remove the mouse bow to finish twisting the remaining length of the pipe cleaner around the band so it doesn’t get tangled.
