Orish Grinstead Funeral – ), named after the area code of their hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada, is an American platinum-selling vocal group whose final and best-known lineup consisted of: Kamelah Williams and sisters Irish and Lemisha Grinstead.
The group was originally a quartet consisting of the Grinstead sisters, consisting of Irish and Irish identical twins, (born June 2, 1980), their older sister Lemisha (born June 10, 1978), and their cousin Amelia Cruz who debuted as an artist. Subway’s hit single “This Lil’ Game We Play.” Amelia Cruz left the group for unknown reasons shortly after the release. The group was joined and replaced by her close friend Kamelah Williams, who at the time signed an album deal with Motown Records. During the making of their debut album, Orish Grinstead withdrew from the group for undisclosed reasons, although his vocals can be heard on the album. Continuing as a trio, they released their first single “Stilo” with great success.

In Las Vegas, sisters Lemisha and Irish Grinstead were students at the Las Vegas Academy of Arts. Irish, her twin sister Orish, and Lemisha occasionally sang in the lobby of Caesars Palace where they were discovered by actor/comedian Sinbad. He went home to convince his parents to send the trio to Atlanta for a convention and music competition. Although the girls missed the entry deadline, Sinbad entered them using their names. “Sweeter Than Sugar”, as they were then called (Sinbad suggested the name), came second in the competition. As the convention draws to a close, she meets Michael Bivins (New Edition and Belle Biv Devoe) who agrees to work with the sisters. They were briefly joined by their cousin Amelia Childs. The reorganized group was named “702”, the Las Vegas area code, a name Bivens suggested. After making her recording debut with Subway’s hit single “This Lil’ Game We Play”, Amelia left the group and was replaced by Academy friend Kamelah Williams. After recording a few demos as a quartet, including “Stilo” and “Get It Together”, Orish decided to leave the group (although his vocals appeared on the first album). Bivins continued to work with various producers and songwriters to get the right feel for his debut album.

The album spawned 3 hit singles: “Stilo”, “All I Want” and “Get It Together”. “Stilo” was used as the theme for a Nickelodeon television program with modified lyrics.
