Oklahoma State Helmets

Oklahoma State Helmets – It’s the offseason and the dead period for college football, so let’s take a look at some neat designer helmets we hope to see hit the lights!

Oklahoma State was one of the first to come out with hundreds of uniform combinations due to its success with Nike and the Oregon Ducks. While they were at the forefront in that aspect, they always seemed a step behind when it came to helmets until this past season when these chrome bad boys were rolled out against Texas Tech.

Now that the team has finally joined the race for the helmets, maybe we’ll finally see some of those wilder ideas that people have been hoping to see. So we scoured the internet to find those wilder concepts so you can decide your favorite!

First up are four concepts from Chris Knox. The first, called “Ice”, is new jersey with a color scheme of white, black and silver, paired with a silver chrome helmet with black trim. This combination is in its own category because it can be worn well at home and on the road. I would love to see this combination at Texas Tech this season.

The next one, called “Flag,” pays homage to the state of Oklahoma by placing the shield of the state flag in white on an orange helmet. It would be better at home with an orange sweater and white or black pants. This look will be phenomenal this season on Homecoming against the Kansas Jayhawks.

Chris takes the bronze rider from the helmets worn last season against West Virginia and puts it on a black helmet. I would love to see this season break out against TCU or Baylor at home in a majority black uniform.

Chris also made this helmet, which is more or less the same as the striped alt-white helmets introduced in 2013, but instead on an orange base, giving a different helmet for a solid home or road look.

Here is a matte black helmet with a huge Pistol Pete on the side that would be used similar to how the chrome helmets were used last season. Although I wish it had Pete’s face on it.

A very simple helmet that would be a good replacement for the current orange Pete helmet would be this inflated version. I really like how the black face mask really brings the whole thing together.

This next one is an alternate version of the orange chrome, replacing Pistol Pete with the brand logo. Simple and clean and will replace the original chrome as well.

Matte white with an orange chrome face mask and a giant, matte Pistol Pete? Yes please! It will look good with any combination with another white piece. White on white or black on white or orange on white or white on orange…I can’t think of a single one that wouldn’t go great!

Now here are some that are more than concepts. These are actually helmets that the equipment staff may have put together but have not yet released. The first is a very simple one that looks brilliant. Orange base, single black stripe, black face mask, Ghost Pete. Please break this one out against TCU wearing the same jersey-pants combo from the Cactus Bowl.

The next one is a composite of the ghost Pete logo on the carbon fiber helmet worn against Kansas and Baylor in 2012 (but hasn’t been seen since) with a black face mask and orange/black/orange stripe. This helmet will look great with a combination of white jersey and black pants on the road or a combination of black jersey and gray pants at home. I would most love to see it worn in DRC when the Cowboys travel to Austin.

Here we have what looks like the orange chrome helmets, but without the orange trim, leaving it an icy white and silver combination. What I’d give to see it in an all-white combo when the Pokes visit Texas Tech or West Virginia.

This one is technically just a draft, but it’s the one that’s got all the coaches fired up, so I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if we see it come to life under the lights. This is the carbon fiber pattern with an all orange Pistol Pete and orange face mask. It would look great with combinations of orange and black and maybe some gray pieces thrown in.

The last two are completely drafts and come from outside the Oklahoma State community, so don’t think they’re rumors or anything. However, they are so on fire that we couldn’t hand them over. They come from Instagram user Fresh Football Helmets, who creates modifications of various college and NFL helmets, as well as taking NBA and MLB logos and designing helmets around them. So far, they’ve made two Oklahoma State helmets, including one that won a fan voting tournament. This first one is that helmet. A silver chrome full bodied Pistol Pete. Simple but elegant.

The last one is a little out of the box, but I think it looks great. I have no idea what uniform combination could be worn with it, but all I know is that I want to see it against Baylor. I give you the Hunter’s Camo Concept. Let the bear hunt begin.

These are all the helmets I could find in my massive search, but I’m sure there are a few I missed. Which helmets would you most like to see?

The Cowboys will go all orange against Texas with a brand new retro-inspired Bucking Bronco helmet, a nod to the 1967-68 helmets worn by the Cowboys. The emblem, the thick stripes, the “POKES” and mini descending “OSU” all 🤏🤏🤏 touch that make this an instant classic.

The Cowboys have only gone all orange twice since the uniform color first became reportable news and never did so with the current uniform design. OSU wore all orange in wins over Iowa State in 2012 and TCU in 2013.

Despite the work we put in, it didn’t get the attention we were hoping for. However, one-time alternate who has is (Oklahoma State) Helmet Havoc. The idea is the brainchild of Oklahoma State football graphic artist Peyton Aufill, but it’s really a project made possible by the imagination of Oklahoma State football equipment coordinator Justin Williams and his predecessors Matt “Chief” Davis and Wes Edwards.

Oklahoma State is known for so many different helmet designs that I’ve lost count, but it ealy filled the bracket of 16 sponsored by Braums. Fans voted during the pandemic, giving them a few sports to think about and now it’s down to eight. The Elite Eight and the voting is on Twitter and one of my favorites, “Patriot Pete,” the white helmet with the full body Pistol Pete and the three stripes in the middle like the New England Patriots, that’s the helmet name of “Patriot” Pete ” .” That helmet is an underdog to the chrome orange helmet with the aforementioned Pete head.

Justin Williams doesn’t name a favorite, the man who
