With just a few supplies, you can turn plain paper into beautiful paper flowers! Use flowers to decorate your home, gift to someone special on Valentine’s Day, or create a bouquet to decorate the tables at a wedding. These flowers look real because they use paper printed with the same beautiful design on both sides. This isn’t special art paper that you need to buy – just plain old paper that you can print our designs on using your home printer! Each DIY paper flower takes a piece of paper and when finished it will look like this:
I’ve created a free pattern for you in five different colors. What you see below is purple/red and my favourite. Each template has two pages: one front and one back, so check “duplex” in the settings before printing. . design. All the cutting lines are marked, so you don’t need to draw anything!
Select the color template you’d like to download below. Make sure you print the template on the front and back of an 8.5×11 sheet of paper. Print the model view at 100% or full size.
To create a paper flower, start by printing a template on both sides of the printer paper (not the potato). Cut out each of the four squares on the paper flower template. Fold each square into quarters, keeping the curved lines at the top. Cut along the curved lines. Also cut the corner or tip of the heart to make a small hole.

Open the pages and there will be four “leaves”. Each leaf has lines on it. Cut the lines.
Discard the paper that says “discard”. Now you will have 7 pieces: one with seven leaves, one with six, one with five… with one leaf.
Take the first piece and glue it to one of the cut lines. Overlap the other cut line slightly and press together to adhere. It bends the flower petals to give it more of a flower shape.
Repeat with all the pieces except the one leaf piece. To do this, just use a toothpick to tighten it.
