How To Make A Mountain Out Of Paper Mache – Recently I have been inspired by handmade design elements, especially photography and poster designs, although they are usually digital. After seeing the LAUS handmade poster project, my mind started working, and boy did I immediately remember that my friend’s brother sent me a 5 minute origami kit for Christmas.
After hours of folding and unfolding, folding and cutting, I finally figured out how to make a perfect origami stack. I used this template below, which I found at the Egyptian Museum and it’s actually for the Origami Egyptian Pyramids!
How To Make A Mountain Out Of Paper Mache
It’s quite tricky at first, but only takes 3 or so to figure it out. It’s very simple. Please, try it. It’s bright and fun. Display it in your home, on your office desk or in your child’s room.

I use a super basic 25cm x 25cm origami and it looks great. If you want to make a bigger one, just buy colorful Letter/A4 size paper and cut it into squares.
So that was my first challenge! I am very happy. I love shapes, textures, colors and shadows. It’s mostly low poly, like my illustration you can see here. The hardest part was making the snow. I had to make a small stack of origami, cut it enough to fit nicely on top, and tape the edges so it wouldn’t fall apart. It’s tricky to apply, but I found using a paper clip. Deploying it works very well.
After such success, I was pushed to try a few more different colors and sizes.
My plan from here is to create a whole mountain scene with 20-30 mountains, take some pictures, do some photoshop, then finish the Red Bull & Endevour Snowboards TopSheet on March 31st. Submit your snowboard design to the competition. .
Fold A Paper Note

We are putting on a play at a school that requires a breathtaking mountain backdrop for some key scenes. what is your occupation? Mountains cannot be moved into the auditorium. The good news: using cardboard boxes to build stilts is a quick and easy way to solve this stacking problem and has been used by schools and theater design companies for years. The lightest cardboard The stacks are made from large cardboard coolers and water heaters. However, they are not always easy to come by. So instead of oversized boxes, try stacking smaller boxes like a pyramid. In this case, the boxes should be the same size to create a solid base. And for the most economical, try lidless paper boxes. These are widely available in most schools and offices.
Remove lids from 15 paper boxes. Stack 15 paper boxes in a pyramid shape and place 5 boxes at the bottom. Position the box so that the 12-inch edge is facing the pyramid. Number the front of the cardboard from 1 to 15.
Pull two pieces of paper 5 meters long from the newsprint roll. Glue the two pieces together to make a large 5 x 6 foot rectangle.
Draw a mountain shape on a 5 x 6 foot piece of paper. Lay out the paper so that it is 5 feet wide and 6 feet tall. Draw a jagged pyramid to make a mountain. Please mark the top of the mountain with an X. Cut out a mountain shape.

Place the mountain shape on the front of the pyramid-shaped box. Make sure you see an X. Align the bottom of the pile with the bottom of the box. Trace the outer shape of the mountain.
Remove the stack of paper from the front of the box. Hold the pile of paper behind the box pyramid. Align the bottom of the pile with the bottom of the box. Make sure the X is not visible and pointing towards the box. Trace the outside of the paper shape. Remove a stack of paper.
Let’s start at the top of the pyramid. Remove the top box and cut along the line with a utility knife. Cut the excess cardboard on both sides of the box. set aside. Repeat this process for each cardboard box with a mountain outline. throw away scraps.
Delete the top four columns of boxes. Place a large ring of masking tape between the boxes to hold it in place. Make a tape ring about 6 inches in diameter. Stack the boxes back in place.

Place a large 3-4 inch circle of masking tape on the back of the stack of paper. Glue it to the front of the cardboard box stack. Press firmly on the tape.
Draw paper on the front of the cardboard box pyramid to represent a mountain. Apply paint to the exposed cardboard.
