Round 15: Ch 2, dc in same street, dec *dc, dec *repeat *around*, dc to join (8) I know everyone is busy this time of year, but I wanted to share a santa hat i made if you are also looking to up your game enjoy your vacation! It was a totally last minute project (I literally finished it on Christmas Eve!) but I found myself taking a moment and deciding that this fancy Santa hat would be perfect to wear on it all this week’s holiday celebrations. Features a thick fold/double lip and ultra thin lights. But the cranberry yarn is what makes this hat in my opinion, giving it a rich and classic Santa Claus look.
Newborn Santa Hat
Unfortunately, this post only contains adult size guidelines. However, it’s really easy to resize or make it smaller, so I’ve included a short explanation on how to adjust it to your needs!
The hat is worked from the brim up, starting from the ribbon. The tape is very wide and then folds.
Do not turn right side out. You will leave the seam allowances facing out because the edge will be folded over later.
Resizing up or down is very easy. All you need to do is make sure the band is the right length for the size you want to make.

Here is a useful and comprehensive diagram to help determine the length of the belt. The number in the second column, “cap circumference” is the number you will use. Remember, the tape must be measured without extension.
Once you have the rib length right, you’ll bring the short ends together as usual and weave evenly around them. Take some classes. From now on, cut each row with 3 cuts for every other row. You can use the row numbers above as a guide.

Glue the pom pom onto the hat. There are many ways to make a pom-pom – using your fingers, a fork, a pom-pom maker, etc… You can search youtube for many ways to make a pom-pom. Or use the following as a guide:
Using color A or some other mystical/funny yarn, wrap the yarn around 3 or 4 of your fingers. 50 times. You can wrap less or more, it will just be smaller or bigger! Tie it around the middle of the wrapped yarn – make sure to tie it very tightly! Next, cut and trim the ends into shape with scissors. I usually make a big pom pom just to be safe in case I wait too long! Secure the pom pom to the top of the hat and you’re done! Double loop crochet pattern. Perfect for a Santa hat or elf and a great base for this double crochet beard pattern!
Nicholas Santa Knit Hat
Two years ago I crocheted a baby-sized Santa hat. It was amazing and a huge success!
Anyway, I’ve had a lot of requests for larger sizes, so this year I sat down and wrote a bunch more sizes, but because it would have made the original post GINORMOUS, I split the hats on these new posts and left them all . double loop beard styles in old post.
I hope you love this style as much as my family does! So hard the princess hasn’t taken it off in days!

Crochet Christmas Hat Baby Santa Hat Christmas Photo Prop
Double Loop Stitch (Place the hook in the stitch. Take the thread and wrap it clockwise around the left finger twice (the opposite of how you would normally hold the finger). Insert the hook under the loops on your finger the three threads with Pull all three threads through the stitches, NO and pull all 4 loops on the hook.)
The loops show on the other side of what you are working on so you are working the same way you need to make sure you are working from the inside of the hat so the loops show on the outside.
