Before you dive in, it’s a great idea to go to Pinterest and create a “Crochet Christmas Decorations” board if you haven’t already. (You can see my crochet Christmas ornament board here.)

The video tutorial you’ll find below will walk you through each step of the process from start to finish. Also, you will need very little for tools and materials. Comment below if you have any questions… Let’s get started!

If you need to adjust the speed, go to settings (bottom right of the video) and adjust the speed. A long time ago I designed a crochet Santa hat pattern and a few years later I added a pattern for mini horns. This weekend I got the idea to dress up my new animal and take some fun photos. But no! Looks like I lost my Santa hat! I searched everywhere but couldn’t find it. I was about to order some yarn to make a new one, and when I thought of the last place it could be, I found this!

Since I will be posting lots of pictures of animals wearing these cute items, I decided to update both patterns. So here they are! Entertain and dress up your bobcat with a crochet Santa hat and antlers!

For this pattern you need worsted weight yarn and hook E US/ 3, 5 mm. I used Led Lobi yarn; Colors are white 0051 and dark red 1409. You’ll need sewing materials and a stiff brush to make the edges fuzzy and fancy.

10. ch 2, (dc in next 10, dc in next 2) x 2 = 24, change white to sl st. If you need a larger mini hat, but don’t switch to white yet, continue as above, adding two stitches each round until your hat is the right size. Note that the red part of the cap will have white folded rounds (three rounds of SC) below.

Now fold the white part upwards so that your hat is nice and thick. Sew it tightly with the end of the thread.

For the horns, you will need brown lobby yarn in brown and any other color of your choice and the same hook as above. Pipe cleaners are preferred because they can bend the pieces. I have used them but they are not safe for small children!

Now you can insert the pipe-cleaner into the longest 4 pieces. Stretch the sections to get the right length and make sure the cleaners are slightly sticking out of the longer two (Part 1s) so you can pin them to the headband. Now attach part 2 to the bottom of part 1 and part 3 to the top of part 1 as shown in the picture. Knit the ends of the yarn except the yarn ends of the long pieces, so you can use them to sew the horns onto the headband.

Now extend this part as well and insert the pipe-cleaner. Now you can sew the closed band through all the outer loops of the 4th, clockwise from the inside with the needle. If you do it right, you can pull the end of the thread and it will close the gap. When I was a child we always made ornaments for our Christmas tree. I know what you’re thinking, it sounds like our Hallmark movie! In fact, I think my mom likes to keep me and my sister busy during Christmas break! But I love this easy activity for making personalized Christmas ornaments.

This year I am weaving a ton of beans. So, for this year’s ornament, I thought how cute would a crochet mini beanie ornament be? Super cute! I absolutely love this little ornament and I laughed while making it (I’m a total geek). This little crochet mini beanie ornament can be made in one color or you can get fancy and make it with both!

Next, wrap the yarn around the edge of the dinner fork. You want to make sure you go around several times or your pom pom won’t get too full.

Next, slide the thread off the hook and pull the embroidery thread tight. Tie a knot in the yarn, then wrap it around the other side of the pom pom and tie another knot.
