We started the trip in the Andes and reached the border at Hito Cayon, 47 km/29 miles from our starting point. We are now in Bolivia. With a guide, we change vehicles and continue our journey through the fascinating bowels of the Altiplano.
Exploration continues as we go. We will visit the Sol de la Manana geysers and countless salt flats, marshes and lakes. Colorado Lake is a great place to see flamingos in their natural habitat and enjoy lunch while watching the vibrant colors of the Altiplano.
Then we continue until we reach the mountain house in Ramaditas where we can watch the sun on the horizon and finally rest for a new day. The silence we feel and listen to when we close our eyes is the beauty of solitude that we have just begun to reveal.
