From top to bottom, the village currently measures about 14 miles long and about 5 miles across at its widest point.

One of the best ways for newcomers to get it into their minds how the Village is designed is to think of it as a long rectangle with many sides. It is important to note that the Villages were (and continue to be) almost entirely from north to south, so for the most part, the more south you go, the newer houses and amenities are available.

Apart from thinking of the Village as a long rectangle, there are four different areas…three with the town square…and a few main streets running from East to West that help us mentally or visually let’s break it down into parts. .

The Village’s official mobile app provides real-time navigation, weather and events in the palm of your hand. According to their website, “The Villages® App is the all-in-one guide to Florida’s Villages, complete with directions for trips on the many gulf highways and traditional trails.”
The Villages GPS (not affiliated with The Villages developers) is billed as “the best app for The Villages, FL.”
Villages GPS is an application available from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store that resides on an iPhone, iPad or Android device.
With the app, you now have a map on your phone of all the town fields, golf courses, entertainment venues and villages in The Villages.
