We firmly believe that anyone with good will, patience and good example and instruction can make a toy.As the child grows, many parents want to keep their smaller clothes as a memory of their early years. One idea to preserve it is to use fabric to make a Corinne Bradd teddy bear, which can be proudly displayed and passed down to future generations. Just remember to reverse the template for each piece to cut a pair.

1 Download and print the templates in /templates. Wash, dry, and iron the baby’s clothes, then sort the items you want to use. Trace each template to the wrong side of the fabric and cut with a 5mm seam allowance.

6 Sew the two parts of the head on the right side from the nose to the front of the neck. Open and place the head gusset between the sides of the head before sewing firmly, leaving the base of the neck open. Cut corners and get out. Fold 1 cm around the edge of the collar and pin. Place the head firmly and bring the neck over the body. Slide the head securely into place.

7 Attach the arms to the body at the shoulder with button joints and a long needle. Tie the string and pass one arm from the inside out. Sew a button and thread it towards the sleeve. Pass the thread through the body over the shoulder and out the other side. Sew the other sleeve, add the button and sew the sleeve again as before.

8 Pass the thread through the body and back out through the first arm and the button Pull the thread to slightly tighten the body between the arms. Continue sewing the body from button to button, keeping the thread tight to create secure seams. Tie the rope between one arm and the body. Join the legs in the same way.

9 Decide on the position of the button eyes and sew in place. Use colored embroidery thread to create a triangular nose with satin stitch and embroider a small mouth on the bear, which is tied under the nose.

I am a very experienced memory maker. I created this pattern to mimic the look of button bears, while being much quicker to sew while attaching the sleeves. The face has a muzzle to add character, and the leg pads are nice and big so they not only look nice, but have plenty of room to embroider names and dates.

Your finished bear will measure 13.5″ (34cm) tall when seated, 12″ (30cm) wide side to side and 9″ (22cm) front to back.
