In the example above, the treatise is presented with a document number (Document No.). This is sometimes referred to as the database number or publication number. This is an identifier used by the database indexing system. If the database you are using provides you with such a number, enclose it in parentheses immediately after the title of the work.

Apa Style 6th Edition Blog: The Seventh Edition Of The Publication Manual Is Available For Preorder!
Gavinea, D.S. (2010). DNA sequencing research: disassembling the sequencing chain (Publication No. 1434728) [PhD thesis, University of Wilmington]. Database of dissertations and theses ProQuest.
Some published dissertations are not in the database, so you provide the URL along with the dissertation publisher.
A link to an unpublished treatise or treatise in the APA will have a slightly different format. They do not have a publisher or publication number. The basic format of an unpublished treatise or treatise is as follows:
Translators, Associate Professors and Teachers: Ways of Knowing, Ways of Learning in a Historical Museum, Art Gallery and Nature Center

Now that you’ve seen some basic examples, it’s time to see where you can find this information. When it comes to citation, you need to know whether it is a thesis or a thesis (this will be discussed in the document). Second, you need to check if it is published or not published.
Many graduate and postgraduate students submit their theses to subscription databases and university archives. Some even publish their work on their websites. Despite the tendency to create a portfolio rather than publish a master’s thesis, there is still a lot of original material.
Some sources for indexing and summarizing dissertations include Dissertations and Dissertations Global and ProQuest Dissertations. You usually have access to paid databases through your school and/or public library.
Knowing whether a dissertation or thesis has been published or not is a bit tricky. However, an unpublished thesis or dissertation is usually only available in your school library. In comparison, published dissertations offer more accessibility options such as databases and archives. Additionally, a published dissertation may also indicate that it is in published form.
Template And Sample Documents
Instructors prefer that you use as many primary sources as possible when creating an APA essay. However, it is a good idea to include secondary sources in your research. They direct you to authoritative sources. So take the time to review the bibliography, works cited, or secondary sources to find additional resources for your article.
Using multiple sources makes the research process more exciting. Instead of just looking for available online sources, searching for primary sources in doctoral and master’s theses shows your research skills. Go ahead and read the summaries of these resources to quickly find relevant resources.
